Great – The Mercury Lounge is a good place to see a concert. Either you sit along the sides or grab a seat at the bar, which you can hear the music rather well.

great place to see a band – I have been to the Mercury lounge many times. In my opinion it has the best room in NYC, perhaps the best room I've ever been to. The sound is great, the stage is decent sized. The bar is a little crapmed, but who cares the music is what its all about. Their management does a great job of finding some really great local acts and a lot of smaller tours stop there. Great place to see up and comings.

Come as you are bar that's great if you either go there all the time (I suppose) or if you happen to catch a great show. A classic stage-in-a-square-room - the acoustics are just fine - where very good college bands and longstanding hip musicians play (10/1/02: ropeadope festival w/ V. Reid, M. Gordon on bass). The crowd is mostly early 20's, but with a solid lower east side element that ought to allow just about anybody to relax. The website is informative. Rock and $5 for a Brooklyn Lager: what else do you want out of life?

Best Rock Club in NYC! – I've been to a bunch of shows here (the Vines, B.R.M.C, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arlo, etc.) and the Mercury Lounge is the best. It does get crowded in the front but the staff is friendly, and the sound is outta this world.

great sound, a New York rock classic – Good sight lines, excellent sound and generally spot-on bookings make Mercury Lounge a place rock fans in NYC find themselves again and again.
