Great neighborhood spot! – Came by last weekend... The bartenders were quick (and damn sexy!), the beer cold and the price just right... Can't beat a PBR+a shot for only $5 bucks! I'll be back for sure...

RACIST & RUDE! – YOU - work hard for your money and when you go out to spend it, would like to be treated with just a little bit of decency, right?

Me - Local NYC barfly for the last 10 years.

Iggys - dive bar with a RUDE & RACIST staff.

Went in here Friday night to meet up a with about 20 people. We are a surf group with a 500 + membership that meets up for dinner & drinks once a month. In this economy, you would think anyone would be happy to have our business.

So I got there early with my pal. Despite two bartenders (both 30ish, a blond and a tatted up redhead) at an uncrowded bar, it took me 5 min to get two beers! No worries. But my friend and soon noticed how slow and unfriendly they were to just about everyone.

RACIST part - Two guys from our group are Indian, but American born. They asked the Red Head if they could close their tab. She rudely replied "You have to ask the bartender who served you. I know, all YOU PEOPLE think us white girls look the same". They were taken back and did not know what to say, and she went on to serve the next person.

After hearing that, my friend and I decided it was time to leave. I asked the blond to close my tab and she darted to the register before I could tell her that we had a prearranged discount. So I asked the Red Head, " could you please let her know I am with the surf group before she rings it up?" She snarled "Tell her yourself, I am not your F_cking mother!"

WOW! When the blond came back I told them both "Thanks for the great service". Normally, I tip at the very least 20%, usually at a bar its more like 30%. But I did something that I have never done before, tipped $1 on a $30 bill.

A few bars in NYC are famous for having rude staff, and that's why you go there (Hogs n Heifer's). But Iggy's is not one of those bars.

If you know where to look, cheap PBRs are more common then wannbe hipsters in the LES. Do yourself a favor, and stay away from this bar at all costs! Much better places in the area, without the attitude or racism!

The bartender is hot. Stiff cocktails and great selection of cold beer. I repeat, the bartender is hot.

I like it – came here on a thursday night and really enjoyed the atmosphere. it has a cool setting, mostly young, punk rocker college kids. great jukebox and nice servers. they asked for ID, even though i am way over 30, so i feel really happy!

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Nightly drink specials and 11 beers on tap including Guinness, Stella Artois and more; jukebox and customer iPods provide tunes.

Great after work bar – I discovered Iggys last year on a saturday night at 1AM. I stepped in for a beer and ended up staying there for 3 hours. The bartenders are very friendly and nice and they have a great music selection (only good classis rock).

Irish bar typical dark interiors and wide variety of beer reminds me of Ireland (though I have nver been to Ireland). The place has very friendly bartenders with no attitude.
