I ordered a bed in February, called three times to arrange delivery, each time I was told it would be 10 days. On the third call in mid-March I was firmly promised delivery by the end of March. The first week of April and still no bed, and according to their website the bed is still "awaiting shipment." Called twice, got no one, and no one is calling me back. I'll be reversing the charges today. These people are crooks.
FInish it yourself! – Ordered a king size storage bed and paid additional $400 for finishing. LAZY, terrible work. They don't tell you when you order that the part under the mattress is not finished. That would be fine if a standard mattress (any size) fit snugly on the platform. It doesn't. There is a gap between the mattress and the bed so when you make the bed, you see unfinished wood at the top. I called to ask why it wasn't finished properly. They never finished that part of the bed apparently and was told more than once that the floor models are like that. Must be why all the floor models are "finished" in a natural wood color. Ours was done in Polar White so it's VERY noticeable. I was offered for them to come by and paint it IN MY APT. Um, no. 1- I don't have time to wait another 4 weeks for it to be fixed. 2- I would have painted it myself if i wanted the smell and mess of paint in my apt. and 3- what the f did i pay $400 for? for anything "visible". I could have done that, thanks. I paid for a professional job. Not professional. I'm filing a complaint with my credit card company for part of the finishing charge. I do believe in you get what you pay for but $1400 for just a bed when all is said and done should be enough to expect perfection.
Love that the furniture is made out of real wood! – I love furniture that is really made from wood, so we went to Gothic to get my son a Captain's Bed. We got it several years ago and it still looks brand new. It's made of real wood and is extremely heavy. It was unfinished and we had to pay extra to have it finished in the shade we wanted. The bed was too big to fit up our stairs, and I didn't know what I was going to do, but they people who delivered it cut it in half and put it back together in my son's room. You can hardly see where it was cut. It looks great and is very sturdy.
I walked in to this location after finding a table at the Murray Hill location that I liked.
I found the same table, but they weren't able to deliver for about 1 week at a fee of $35. I explained that I could pick up as I lived around the block. The nice young guy that worked there agreed to sell me the floor model for 10% off and he would carry it to my apartment immediately. And so he did! I'm thrilled with the quality of the furniture, but mostly for the customer service. I would come back and highly recommend for their service.
I bought a bedroom set from Gothic a few months ago and I'm very pleased with it. I had it finished in red oak and it looks and feels wonderful. The price was good and the service was outstanding. I highly recommended for those smart souls who go for something practical and that would stand up to passing trends.
Good products made of real wood – I've bought many pieces here and have one CD storage unit made to my design. They offer good products made of real wood in a world where plastic is all the rage. I recommend them!
The best furniture store on the planet! – This has probably got to be the best furniture on the planet for the money.
The staff are willing to help you with decorating – I go here when I need to get small household items. The staff here are very knowledgeable and willing to help you with decorating ideas and show you what would look nice in a particular area.
Service at Gothic Cabinet Craft is very competent – They manage to have enough examples to give you a sense of what you are going to end up with, and the service is competent. The man who helped us was friendly, knowledgeable, and got it done.
Been a customer of Gothic Cabinet Craft for many years – I've gotten most of my furniture at various Gothic Cabinet Crafts stores over the years, but want to single out this store for their service. When I had a problem with my newly-bought futon (because I had been up all night the night before and didn't remember how to return it to the sofa position), one of the staff came over and showed me how to do it again. If I need furniture, my first action is to see if Gothic has it.
