BUG IN FOOD & WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE – After my office ordered take-out from Patsy's a few times, I decided to take my brother, who was visiting, to their Greenwich location. I ordered the Caprese salad and I kid you not, there was a HUGE beetle on the plate. I was being nice and didn't make a huge scene to frighten the other customers, so I asked them to take it away and bring a new one, which they rudely did (as if it was my fault). The service was terrible from there on out. To top it off, I got the bill and they didn't even remove the bug infested salad from the tab and the owner argued with me for about 15 minutes until I had enough and just paid and left. I will NEVER go back here again and my company will never order take out again either. I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant.
Overrated Pizza – I've been to many pizza shops. I ate at Patsy's on university once. My favorite location is still on 118th street. I went ot University with my wife once. I met the owner a Albanian man. He's was a decent guy. The pizza was okay. The service was so-so. Small tables that the pizza barely fits on and the place is always crowded. The restaurant is to small and stuffy. The pizza is okay. Don't waste your time here go to Lombardi's on spring street. They still make the best pizza. Or you could go to the original Patsy's on 118th street. The pizza is better there and trully authentic. Patsy's on University is way overrated.
Avoid – My husband and I ate here this past Sat and got food poisoned - staying up whole night throwing up (me) and poopin' (both), and spending most of the Sunday in bed with sore muscle and mild fever. We had pizza, pasta and salad. Will never go back again!!!
The service was decent... but that obviously doesn't matter any more.
Great pizza – My 2 coworkers took me to Patsy's today for my birthday lunch. I will admit that I went to Patsy's with a level of trepidation because of some of the very negative reviews on this site, but my experience was nothing but pleasant. We arrived at about 1:30 PM and were seated promptly at a private table away from the other few occupied tables. (I mention this because it has always been my experience that restaurants tend to group parties together in one section when the place is not busy- not so this time, which was a positive sign.) The waiter we had was very polite and attentive. Drink orders were taken and filled within the first five minutes of our sitting down and a bread basket was there a few seconds later. The waiter was very patient as my party decided what to order. We ordered a family-size arugula salad that was delicious. I normally ask for the dressing on the side, but was pleasantly surprised at how well they dressed the salad (neither too much nor too little). The pizza we ordered was scrumptious: it had a perfectly charred thin crust, not too much sauce, not too much mozz, tons of the three toppings we ordered (ricotta, muchrooms, and grilled peppers) and plenty of fresh basil leaves. This was a perfect lunch to share. I will say that it is not as inexpensive as your ubiquitous "corner pizzeria", but it is no more expensive than John's or Lombardi's (both with excellent pizza). You will taste a huge difference (if you care) between the made-to-order fresh pizza of Patsy's, John' or Lombardi's versus the mass-produced flavor of a corner pizzeria. I will be going back.
Fun, GREAT pizza, good service – I wasn't expecting much from the previous reviews here, but I was in the neighborhood with a friend and we decided to stop by. We got pizza and it was SO good. I loved the sauce and the crust was great. Our waitress was super sweet and really helpful. The pizza is good for the price, and the overall feeling of the place is a step from a regular pizza joint. I'll def be going back!!
We will never recommend this place, they need to hire new staff and management obviously the managers do not know how to train their staff to have proper etiquette. – the pizza was soggy when they brought out the pasta which i never even touch, i notice a very long blond hair that was cooked in with the pasta. i pointed it out to the waiter he took it away and then came back and told me there was no one in the back with long hair, he then made it seem like i was the one who had put it in there when the dish was never even touch, and said he'll give me a new one, but can't comp the dinner. the worst was when he made an assumption that i wanted the dinner comp when all i said was there was a hair in my pasta and i wanted a new one, then he rushed and gave us the check without asking if we wanted dessert so when i told him we would like to order desserts, he again said he can't comp the dessert for us.
Amazing service along with the BEST Pizza – My wife and I wanted to get something to eat quickly before seeing Borat and we decided that we would try Patsys, this place was thumping with the coolest music and kindest hostess in the world. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table and we had a nice relaxing drink with the very humorous bartender, after the hostess sat us we ordered a past and pizza with George who was such a charming young man who had a very vibrant accent. The meal was delicious, music was great, George was excellent, and the cannoli was to die for. All in all patsy?s was a wonderful experience and I look forward to visiting very soon.
Rude Service – I ate here many times because the food tastes good (and I live in downtown). But I had the most rude weitresses (there were 3 girls, and 2 of them were rude) from the beginning to the end. My group was total of 6 people, and one of the weitresses seated us at the 4 people's table. The restaurant was almost empty (only two other small groups, and one big group) so we decided to move to 6 people's table right next to the small table. Then, the weitress told us to move another tabls, which was no different from the table we just moved. Then, the same weitress came to ask our order 3 times within 3 minutes. We got so annoyed with her, but told her nicely we needed more time, then she said, "kitchen is closing" with nasty attidute. We were about to leave, but we were so hungry, so we just let it go and ordered - 1 family size appetiser, 1 large pizza, 3 pasta dish, with 1 botte of wine with some beer.
Ok, now we start eating food, enjoying the good food. When half of the people finished eating, while other people were still eating, another weitress came to take some of our plate without asking if we were finished. Then, next thing we know, she brought our bill and left it in the middle of the table without saying anything. We were never asked if we needed more drink, or dessert. We were not even the last group in the restaurant, there was a big group still eating. We were very upset with the attitide of the weitresses and the service, and decided not to go back anymore.
Of course we did not leave any tip, because we did not get the servie to tip.
RUDE service – I've never eaten at this establishment, but I have ordered for deliveries - very LARGE deliveries that cost a lot of money. After the experience I had today on the phone with them, I will NEVER order from them again. They repeatedly switched me around to different people on the phone so I was asked the same questions over and over. This was annoying enough but then when I called back because there was a change in our HUGE order that I had ABSOLUTELY NO control over, the guy yelled at me about how I need to know my order before I call next time because they already charged the credit card. I told him that I had no control over it and he proceeded to keep yelling at me. I really don't know what the big deal is about running a refund on a credit card. I'm sorry but I thought "the customer is always right." Apparently Patsy's doesn't believe this and treats their customers like dirt instead.
PS - This pizza is pretty good (hence the "average" rating) but the service is so bad, it's not worth it. There is plenty of good pizza in the city that you don't have to endure such poor treatment with.
a delightful experiance – i came up from Forida and my relatives insisted that i must go to patsys before my trip was up. Not only was the food outstanding, but the service and atmosphere was rocking. they played cool music and their waitstaff had a delightful charm to them. the pizza is fantastic and the pasta is beyond imagination, and i cant even begin the explain the to tell you how great the cannoli was. if you want a good time and good food, i would defintly recommend that you try this place out!!!
