Rudest Staff In NYC – I actually signed up for Citysearch just so I could write a review on this place.
I planned my birthday party here - had about 50 people in the bar giving them business. I showed up a little late. I was having trouble walking in my heels and I stumbled walking across the street. I get to the door and the bouncer won't let me in because he said I could barely walk and I was too drunk. After my friend explained to him that it was my birthday party and all the people in the bar were there for me he called her a "twat" and proceeded to push my boyfriend down the stairs.
This place doesn't treat people properly and does not deserve your business. Pick somewhere else to plan your birthday - if you're going through a promoter, I'm sure they have other options for you.
Not to mention my roommate was there the night before and it was filled with 18 year olds.
Thank you Union Bar! – I had my birthday here two weeks ago and I had an awesome time. I had a friend who recommended AccessGotham to me, and they really did right by me and by planning my party.
There was a line outside and we instantly went in with zero hassles. We were a group of 17, and we got handed several free drinks tickets. The bartenders were super cool, and everyone was responsive to our needs.
Thanks again Union Bar/AccessGotham for helping me to celebrate 25th birthday!
Union Bar parties through Access Gotham! – I had a birthday party at Union Bar on Park Ave about a month ago... I booked the party through Access Gotham's website after I found them on facebook and let me tell you it was the best decision i've ever made. They must be on great terms with the club owner because we got in unbelievably fast and we got a free bottle of vodka for the table! I've read some reviews about people having problems planning parties at Union Bar but honestly if you book through Access gotham like I did you wont have any problems!
Great Happy Hour – My review is strictly for the Happy Hour. I came here on Tuesday and it was kind of empty. They have great happy hour specials of $4 beer, $5 well drinks and $6 tinis. Their curly fries sure smell good but I didn't get a chance to try it. Drinks here are pretty strong so it is great value!
TERRIBLE NEW YEAR'S!!!! – We booked this place for New Year's through Joonbug at an exorbitant $75 a pop. It was advertised to have a 5-hour "premium open bar," a hot buffet, and "world renowned DJ." The second I stepped inside I wanted to leave. It was wall-to-wall sardine packed, in one small shabby room with no decor. There was no seating because that was all for "reserved parties." Coat check was $5 an item. (They made me pay for 2 items.) There was a 20-minute wait to even get CLOSE to the bar, and when we did we were told it was all beer, wine and "well drinks," no cocktails. I ordered a wine which gave me indigestion, I think it was 2-Buck Chuck. (How do they define "premium" exactly?) The music was TERRIBLE... boring, generic techno. Oh and the buffet? A bunch of fried microwave appetizers, lukewarm, shoved off to a corner behind the drafty door. The crowd was maybe 2/3 women. We barely made it to midnight through sheer determination, getting pushed and shoved every second of the way, then left soon after midnight. (There was no "champagne toast" or "party favors" as advertised on joonbug, btw.) WASTE OF MONEY! Do not go here! MISLEADING ADVERTISING!!!!!!
Never go here – I will never step foot in this bar because the bouncer decided to try and "confiscate" my over-21 drivers license. He asked me for additional identification and I provided him with credit cards, a student ID, and an insurance card. He claimed that my drivers license was expired and that he was supposed to keep it. After threatening to call the police and my lawyer, he decided to give it back to me. Are you serious??? I am over 21, and it was my drivers license. I will never step foot in this place, and I will never refer them business. I will be telling all of my friends to never go here.
Editorial Review – Union Square lounge boasts live music, huge projector screens and a dance floor and accommodates planned parties and groups.
11-2am Happy Hour on Tuesday? Awesome!!! – I work till about 10pm and I miss all the normal Happy Hours. But then I heard about this Tuesday night Happy Hour and it was great. There was a bunch of people there like me that work late. The bartender was really cool too. It was just a great way to relax, have a couple of drinks and then head on home.
Great time in the heart of NYC! – The atmosphere is very inviting, the bartenders are very friendly and the place has great music. I've gone to many happy hours there, and recently arranged a little party after work and we had excellent seating and were treated very well by the manager and staff. The prices of drink on happy hour are just great, and it's just a stress-free, relaxing and fun environment. Later on it gets busier and louder and I heard at night they have a DJ, which my friends love. If you're looking for a great evening filled with great people, drinks, and a good time this is the place!
