great place to grab a pint ( or two, or three...). I think O'Hanlons is great. The prices are cheap ( 3 bucks for a bud) , the bartenders are friendly , there is plenty of room no matter if you are in a group of 2 or 12, and You can play pool! I don't know what the last poster was talking about, but I've found that the bartenders are usually very accomodating. It can get crowded on weekends -what place doesn't- but I've never had to wait forever at the bar to get a drink.

Not accomodating to sports fans......... A game we wanted to watch was on and the bartender told me he was too busy to find it and put it on for us. We went to another bar who was more than accommodating and actually wanted people who were going to spend the entire basketball game patronizing their establishment.

great place to get f*#@%d up!. This bar shouts old school New York. The bartenders are pros here and so are the drinkers. Leave the hipsters to the Lower East Side - this is not the place to "see and be seen." This is the place you can go wearing a pair of sweats and your baseball hat. You can always find seats for you and your friends. If you didn't bring any friends, you're sure to make some before you leave. The music is never loud enough to kill conversation and the jukebox rocks. Tons of great drinking games too - 4 dart boards, a pool table, video poker, Buck Hunter etc. This is the place to get stuck in for hours.

Great laid back. Great place to go and hang out with your friends, watch a game, play little pool or shoot some darts

Editorial Review. Irish pub, more than half a century standing, attracts locals with billiards, darts, a jukebox and games on plasma screens.

I Love This Bar. I have been going to this bar for years and it has always been under the radar. Now it is gaining popularity, and though most regulars may grumble about this, I think it is great that it is finally getting the recognition it deserves. There are amazing bartenders, cheap drinks, any game you want to watch it is on. Also an amazing jukebox. If you like a fussy place then O'hanlons is not for you. But if you are looking for a great atmosphere with great people then I highly recommend it.

Old Bar New Feel. I found myself at the bar of this east village spot on a friday night and could not believe that even though its been a bar for 70 plus years it has such a cool feel. Plasma TV's line the bar and a cool back room with a pool table a several dart boards make it easy to mix with the regulars. Drinks were good and not expensive and the bartenders were very friendly. There was a great mix of neighborhood regulars and young newcomers. I highly recommend this place, its my new local.

Love that big roomy pub. There's no place quite like O'Hanlon's in the city. Big, roomy spaces mean there's plenty of elbow room, with tables, stools, and common areas to mill around. Darts, several big screen TVs, a great jukebox, and very friendly bartenders make this a must-visit haven on the cusp of the East Village.
