The Best Time of my Life – I was there on March 8th and the service were excellent..
The girl behind the counter was very nice. The manager was very helpful of what to do in the city and the rest of the staff were great..Just wish the tour was a little longer.
"AVOID at all costs Liberty Helicopters – "AVOID at all costs, - awful company, horrible customer
The flight of my life – When we arrived at the hotel we were given the opportunity of a life-time to fly around Manhatten in a helicopter.
We could not pre book this in the United kingdom before hand, due to the possible changing of weather conditions.
The cost of this experience was $199 per person for about 20 minutes, and what an exciting twenty minutes?
The excitement was building as we prepared for the flight, even putting our Lifesaving equipment on made me feel excited.
The take-off of the helicopter was so gentle and we flew down the Hudson river and over central park.
Ground Zero was pointed out to us, we flew around the statue of liberty, empire state building and Manhatten itself, and all to soon the twenty minutes were up and the pilot landed the helicopter like a butterfly on a leaf, so gentle.
Dont go to New York if you dont do the helicopter experience.
The only way to see the BIG APPLE! – The feeling of weightlessness and flying like a bird. Go at dusk/sunset and see the lights come up, it's really a beautiful sight.
Bad Service – We were rudely treated and walked out! We were kept waiting for over an hour before they told us what was happening. It would have been nice to know in advance that the airspace was closed due to the president and that they had no idea what time they'd have us fly. After we were told they said probably 2 to 3 more hours of waiting because we needed to be searched???? so we went to another company.
Terrific, far better than the competition. – We had a terrific helicopter ride after experiencing a horrific miscommunication with their competitor. The staff was friendly, the tour was fun, and I enjoyed myself immensely.
Wonderful Experience – I had read all the reviews on-line and was more than nervous about purchasing the tour for my husband's birthday. There was no way we could have been happier with the entire experience! The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. The tour was breathtaking and informative. The pilot was amazing (it was very windy, but the ride was great!). We definitely got more than our money's worth from this adventure, and I will be treating other family members to this experience of a lifetime in the near future!
Rude, Long waits – We double confirmed a 4pm reservation, but they told us without an apology and in a rude manner that we were delayed 30-45 minutes. We decided to wait 30 mins, but it then became another 30 minutes and we didn't want the tour in the dark. They would not refund our money and we had to rebook.
Everyone we talked to in the waiting room was in the same situation with Liberty. Familes from overseas were waiting 2 hours and their kids were getting restless and upset. From our conversations, I gathered that everyone had booked well in advance and that the company just overbooks as a policy and then makes people wait 1-2 hours. This is not only a bad policy, but the staff is so rude and unapologetic that the whole thing becomes a big turn-off. We really don't want to go back to this company, but since they wouldn't refund us, we have to.
There is another company in the same building that was running on time and doesn't even book tours once it is dark. Everyone using their service looked happy and excited. Everyone in the Liberty line looked miserable.
Share a sky-high view or charter the whirligig yourself. – In Short
The helicopter tours range in price, time and area covered, from a quick fly-by of major sites like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building, to chartered journeys to various locales in the region, including Atlantic City. Climate control along with an expanded cabin ensure that comfort accompanies the view. Each chopper seats up to six passengers plus the pilot, and walk-in passengers are welcome at this location.
Disappointing Chopper Svc – We were told b/c we didn't have a reservation we would have to wait 1-1.5 hours. We were sequestered in a small modular office w/ about 50 others; after over two hours and others behind us in line being called ahead of us, we finally asked if we had been forgotten. The customer svc response was dismissive & deplorable; their primary job, it seemed, was to cram through as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. After paying $105 each for a 10 minute ride (advertised as a "10-12 minute tour") w/ , the total time we wasted there was about 2.5 hours. The one blemish on an otherwise memorable NYC wknd.
