Fun All the way – OMG!.The atmosphere starts the minute you enter. How much fun! The music got to me as soon as I entered and seeing the bartender (bartendress?) we waited a few minutes, but enjoyed drinks at the bar whike waiting for our table. And the attitude of each ladies ranging from sweet and innocent to sassy & nasty was quite entertaining. I kept filling my drinks over and over! You're there for the atmosphere and fun. And fun it is. The food isn't gourmet, but good enough. And the desserts!..The show was great and the lap dance girls were so much fun. I even got to participate and have a lap dance! I would definitely go again
whatever you are looking for its here !! – I was drawn to Lucky Cheng’s most recently by the full moon last week when I just knew I had to go out and howl. This is the place to find good friends and reasonable prices. The girls are all here Tgirls and young party girls enjoying the karaoke and having their bachelorette parties. The guys all here, looking for the girls or the hippest guys. The atmosphere is everything from laid back and casual to wild and crazy. There are multi-level bars scenes where you can relax, throw some drinks down and chat. Downstairs or upstairs you can find shows with various themes and the staff is the friendliest and most attentive group you will find in the city. This has been my bar of choice for years and you can always find good looks, good prices, good booze and good times ....every night. Do you desire something eat? .... Try the brand new Bento Burger portion of the establishment for the trendiest eatery to hit NYC in a long time. Have you figured out I love this place? Give it a try and I am certain you will not be disappointed.
lucky Chengs lives up to its amazing reputation – I have celebrated all my key birthdays at lucky s. What a show! the wait staff is not only gorgeous to look at but so friendly you think your in the mid west somewhere..Ive always thought lucky s should be a national chain like Hooters..on in drag...Food is right on target and im not a meat eater either..usually me and my boyfriend split the meal as its too much food for me alone..Always delicious and fabulous DRINKS!!..I never see them count shots..just dump it in...Go have fun its almost HAPPY HOUR!!
This is REAL NEW YORK kids, timeless and spectacular! – This place is legendary! This is TRULY a NY classic and it's here to stay!! The staff is absolutely delightful and friendly. Be ready for the time of your life, and at the very least you're going to experience something you definitely don't experience every day. Not for the faint of heart, as this place has real NY attitude so if you're a b*tch they're a b*tch, but it's still b*tching good times! This definitely beats a fancy bourgeois dinner of $200 for two. You can do that anywhere. This place is something to make your New York experience complete! I love all my girls there and Lailah is going to be your FIERCE bartender. She's gone through a awesome transformation and is looking stunning!
Come here... don't miss out!
Legendary Drag Queen Restaurant and Bar! – I LOVE this place!!!!
I have been coming to Lucky Cheng's for years and have yet to be disappointed! I mean honestly, for the price of dinner and a show in NYC, it's a pretty great deal! I live in the east village and it's definitely a place I take my friends from out of town for a fun night of food, drinks and laughs. We always have a fantastic time!!!
The food is good and they have several options for vegetarians like myself:) The portions are huge so we never leave this place hungry. The waitresses are always friendly attentive and willing to take tons of pictures with me and my friends. The entertainment is hysterical; I always laugh my ass off, and if you want to participate and get on stage or really embarrass your friends you can, (I always see tons of birthday and bachelorette celebrations here) And the drinks are tasty and right in the price range for other neighborhood bars. (this is NYC people, sorry, but if you're expecting to pay $5 for a drink you need to go back in time to the 80's)
The place is a bit campy, but hey, it's a drag queen cabaret bar, what do you expect? I actually love the ambiance! In addition to the dining area filled with dim lighting and colorful lanterns, there is a bar area in the front of the restaurant for patrons that just want to drink and not eat dinner. (this has been great for those late night drop ins w/friends that just want to check it out or attempt to sing karaoke) Lailah, the bartender, is very engaging and always has funny story's to tell. There are even a few "regulars" that I see when I come here, which let's be honest, I think that says a lot for the staff and how they treat customers. It's a quirky "Cheers" you might say.
Also, for those that may not know this, Lucky Cheng's has worked with some pretty cool celebrity's. Lady Gaga and Cyndy Lauper shot their MAC Viva Glam campaign here, it was featured on the first season of Sex and the City where Carrie and friends attend a birthday party, and for those die hard 30 Rock fans such as myself, it's been featured several times as the place where Jenna's boyfriend Paul works and impersonates her. I really get a kick out of that stuff!
All in all, I think Lucky Cheng's is definitely one of those places you must visit when in NYC.
AN EAST VILLAGE INSTITUTION! – Ignore the review from Luckyfella, Lucky Cheng's has been doing it's unique thing for literally thousands of people from all over the world for years and years!
Do you think it would have lasted so long if it was a rip-off? Do you think it would be part of the East Village's lifeblood if the food was sub-par? Do you think the drag queens would keep coming back if they knew that rats might scurry across the trains of their beautiful, often hand-made gowns? Of course not!
Everyone living or visiting NYC should say they've had a night at Lucky Cheng's. They won't regret it ;)
Ignore the review from Luckyfella – I am a drag entertainer at Lucky Cheng's and the review by Luckyfella is written by a crazed, disgruntled former employee. He has been harassing the owner and us, and just ignore it. The food is good, I do the shows on Friday nights, so I can attest tot the fact that they are GREAT, the service impeccable, and we don't have any pets running through the dining room. The entire staff has been sending emails to get this removed because it is abusive, cyberstalking, harassment, but it's still here, so I just felt the need to speak up. He's not Luckyfella, he's CRAZYFELLA!!!!
Check it out, luckyfella is at it again!!!!!!!
THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE !! – My best girlfriends blindfolded me a took me to the most fun place I've ever experienced. And I've experienced alot in all my years in NYC ! When I arrived at the bachelorette party destination and the blindfold came off, the packed drag-tastic party place buzzed with excitement. The festivities included a really fun show by the crazy drag hostesses and servers. There were lap dances, interactive shows, an erotic cake and plenty of laughter and booze flowing. It will be a night me and my girlfriends will never forget !! Thanks Lucky Chengs !!!
Exotically Hilarious! – First off let me start out by saying that if you come here, invested in great food and a romantic dinner for two, you are in for quite the disappointment. Although it may be fun to go with one or two friends, the "drag queen experience" is best a with large groups.
I went here last week for one of my best friend's birthdays with a group of 25 people. It didn't look like much from the outside, but once we entered the restaurant, the entire place, from the toilet seats to the bars, raved the unorthodox and lively theme.
We were seated instantly and the food came very quickly, considering the size of our party. The portions and quality of the food were decent, definitely not worth $34 a person, but let's face it, we were not there for the five star gourmet meal.
Shorty after the food came, the show began. The performing drag queens spared no vulgar detail and showed sexual restraint very sparingly as one of them stood on both hands, crotch dangling vigorously into my friend's face during a lap dance!
From the singing and comedy to the straight out exotically hilarious lap dances, the show kept all of us reaching for our cameras, forgetting almost entirely about our plates. Towards the end of the show came the part where the guest of honor from each table was pulled out to join the performers and put on a little show of their own. Unfortunately, the birthday girl from my table was a little too uncomfortable for all that. I would've volunteered but they already had two guys.
I left Lucky Cheng's with a full stomach, a full camera, and memories that definitely won't fade any time soon. 5 STARS!
Get your mom on stage for the lapdance contest – Had my whole family there for my mom's 60th birthday, ages 15 to 72. Could not have had more fun. My mom got drunk and got on stage The drag queens were so much fun and made a big to do over her. The manager made erotic balloons for the entire table and asked us to write a review, so here I am. Food great, we had a chocolate shoe for dessert which was amazing. The hostess, a big funny drag queen, was hysterical and seated us immediately. Word of advice, get there on time with you entire party. There were people who arrived without their whole party and they were not seated right away and seemed kind of angry.
