Left a VERY bitter taste in my mouth – Having flown nonstop from Germany, to Paris, to my final destination New York, I went to the "G-Lounge" for a relaxing cocktail to kind of "welcome" myself back to the city I adore. I must have dozed off, because I was escorted out,and was not allowed to get my Louis V back with my mac laptop,my blackberry with all of my contacts, my cash or wallet. The bouncers just stood at the door, and would not budge as I cried for them to get my belongings, so I could go home. I was on the streets of New York with no credit cards, cash, and REALLY thought all of my belongs were gone. I finally got home because of a good samaritan letting me on the train with their metro card. Thinking my belongings were gone, I had my locks changed, canceled all my credit cards, contacted my insurance company concerning my laptop,to find out a few days later that my property was in the G-Lounge office all that time. This bar has always been a favorite of mine, the crowd is some-what not my taste, but wonderful experiences all together. This recent experience has darkened my view of New York period. I will be suing for damages.

Great Chelsea Bar – Credit should be given where credit is deserved. LOVE LOVE LOVE G Lounge. You never have to wait for a drink even though the place is always busy with a good looking and friendly crowd.
4 Things to Know before you go – Four important things to know before you go?.
1. If you pay by credit card, make sure to check your statement a few days later. They have been known to ?up? their tip after you have signed your receipt.
2. The music may not be any better than any other bar in town. It might be worse.
3. If you order the same drink more than once and are at any time charged a few bucks more for the same drink, do NOT bring this to the attention of the bartender. You may get bitched out.
4. Have fun!
Nice set up, though super crowded! – This place gets packed! I like the set up though it's difficult to naviigate when crowded. Drinks are expensive.
Better than before – When this bar opened, it was a fresh new thing for New York, with an airy open vibe with windows that let light in and a decor that was upscale and loungy. With that came attitudes, lines and VIP cards. It defined the Chelsea neighborhood and was filled with fresh young things with stuck up attitudes--and I was one of them.
After having moved back to NYC after 4 years on the West Coast, I rediscoved g. Gone is the fresh attitude and it now has a more comfortable mature vibe (with a great mix of both suit and tie and younger trendoids) that provides a great hang out space that is comfortable and yet stylish.
I think that g has grown into itself and is now a much better bar than when it opened. And while the bartenders and wait staff might not flirt relentlessly like in other bars where they flirt for tips, they are professional and friendly.
freindly bouncers – The bouncers are so nice and very freindly, the music is good house, but the people seemed a little uptight untill we started talking to people.. by the ned of the ngiht everyone was lossened up and alot of people were actually dancing
very average – Ridiculously crowded both times I went with friends from out of town. I was trying to figure out what all the fuss was about. Someone please tell me.
Chelsea Mainstay – G has a good vibe with the hottest bartenders! It has been around for years and is up and down in hotness factor. I went last week for the first time in 4 years. It was SO HOT! I felt like I was at David Barton gym! Staff is all so friendly.
Smelly Basement – After the doorman let in our group of 7 we were all very disappointed in the space. No vibe no energy. Smells weird a few children hanging out thinking they are the hottest thing. Nothing about the place that would make me come back. In short just another empty spot who thinks they are the hottest thing to hit NY.
