Awesome Kids Stuff On An Awesome & Quiet Secret Street. This great store is Actually TWO STORES! So Special, the owner had to grow into two spaces. The sista-store is slightly up the block, across the street, and has merchandise for older-than-8-year-olds! You can lust through all the great clothes, tutus, KNITWEAR, toys, doodads, etc.etc.etc. and try to decide and edit, but if You stay too long (like I always do) You may find yourself just buying all your selections and losing your ability to narrow things down!! There's just TOO MANY awesome finds here! (Don't tell anyone, but I've even found myself buying things I didn't need for children I didn't have or even know, just because i found something that was so darned adorable!!) The store's name LILLIPUT really is like a whole Other Land for Little People and big (naughty) shoppers.
i should have read the review. baaaad. baaad shop. takes the fun out of shopping for baby things.
The meanest kids store in the world.... The owner of this store is intense. She relentlessly berates her staff in the presence of customers. She rankles when children touch the merchandise in her *children's store*. And she clearly favors wealthier clients... Her selection was once unique, but now if you are looking for great kids stuff, go to: Space Kiddets (trendier looks, great footwear and vintage toys); Barneys ('high fashion' like D&G, Cacharel, Bonpoint, Moschino...); Calypso (reasonably priced house label versions of high fashion items); Estella (intellectual designs by Belgian and other Euro designers); Yoya (uptown looks for downtown kids). **There are loads of better options than Liliput!!!**
When baby is a clotheshorse..
The Scene
Lilliput--a store that is, well, Lilliputian--looks like the overstuffed closet of a well-dressed baby. Do places like this ensure that children turn into style mavens, or that they turn against fashion and go Goth? Either way, we can't think of a better place to outfit bebe in a top embroidered, simply, "Bebe."
The Goods
Who knew that Diesel made a line for little people? Well, it's here, along with other musts for infant fashionettes: Very retro sequin shifts (perfect for cocktail parties--or bottle parties, if you must), sparkly Dorothy shoes, leggings with teddy bear heads, and just about everything else you could ever want if you were small. You might even be tempted to pick up one of those wands topped with stars for yourself.
