Best Italian Restaurant in Soho – Savore is such a treat! I took my fiance there for a romantic dinner and loved it so much I had my birthday party there! The food was excellent, and the wine list was very affordable. Our waiters checked in with us throughout both meals and were even accommodating to my large (and loud!) family. The location was also great - blocks from the subway and in a nice neighborhood to walk around after eating. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone - especially if you're looking for a tasty and authentic Italian meal!

A local neighborhood eatery – I went to Savore with a group of four for dinner. Skipping the foreplay, let me tell you why I rated it 3stars. The Decor: The lights in the restaurant was dimly lit, unfortunately, the light tended to flicker brighter every so often. The restaurant looked clean and I describe it as rustic (wood tables, chairs, bar, floor). The decor of the restaurant was average, nothing very special to say about it.

The Wine: The wine list was respectable for a neighborhood restaurant, prices were reasonable. We had selected a Chianti Classico Reserva for $31, when they realized they were out they offered us a similar bottle, which was $15 more, for the same price.

The Appetizers: Minestrone soup, fair; baked squid (a special), soft and tender but a little bland; lobster salad with citrus vinaigrette, fair (the items were separately placed on the plate and had little creativity); Trio of tuna, very good (the only complaint, greens on the tuna carpaccio was very tart due to the dressing).

The Meal: Fish (Bronzano),presented in an oval claypot. It came to the table steaming and bubbling right from the oven in its own juices with tomatoes and potatoes. The veal and the short rib special, unfortunately, wasn't as hot but served luke warm, which ruined the dish a little; but the flavors were good.

The Service: The service of the food is best described as sloppy. The orders were given to the wrong person, which seemed like they were playing musical chairs. Because they did not properly carry the dishes of food, two items were overlapped and there was food on the under side of one of the plate, which left a huge stain on the table of mash potatoes once the plate was removed. I tend to place my arms on the table, so I placed my napkin over the stain. On the plus side, the water service was prompt.

Conclusion: For a neighborhood restaurant, the food was good. I would eat there again if I was in the neighborhood, but I would not travel just to dine there.

Best Authentic Italian food in Soho – It is wondeful place. First of all the food is outstanding and realy proves why thye have two forks from the prestige Michelin Guide. The home made pasta is amazing and the hand rolled penne remindes me traditional pasta of my grandmother... The wine list is outstanding you will find the range of wines with different price and from different regions of Italy. The service is wondeful too. The waiter realy try to make you feel confortable and make a sure that you enjoy your food. This place is the best italian restaurant in the neighberhood and one of the best in the entire city. It is simple delicious and traditonal. If you know wht the quality food means you will agree with me after you try Savore. I higly recomend this place...

refreshingly flavorful food...a nice change from wasabi heavy menus! – My family and I stumbled onto this restaurant and were just hoping for a decent dinner that also had options for our kids. We all very pleased. The quality of food was fresh and superb and the sauces and vegetables accompaning it was light and complimentary instead of overbearing. My son loved the octopus and horseradish with potatoes while my other son feasted on the tuna trio. I don't usually go for pasta but I tried the pasta with shaved asparagus and yellow tomato sauce. I loved it ; it was light and felt healthy for a pasta entree. The halibut was served over polenta which was so light and creamy that we almost didn't recognize it as polenta. The other pasta dishes were also excellent. Dessert was also a winner. The atmoshere was simple but elegant and the service was good. Overall this is a place where the quality of the food and fresh ingredients prevail instead of overpowering rubs and heavy sauces.

Delicious Lite Italian Food at Great Prices – I stumbled upon Savore with a co-worker yesterday afternoon as we happened to be in the area, which was somewhat unfamiliar to us. We chose this place because the prices were a bit more reasonable than other restaurants in the neighborhood and for a quick lunch it seemed pretty good. Well our meal was really delicious and I would definitely go back to Savore for lunch. We asked to be served quickly and we were in and out in about an hour -- perfect. My co-worker enjoyed her tortellini filled with mozzarella and I really liked my tonnarelli with red & yellow cherry tomatoes & shrimp. The shrimp weren't whole with shells but rather small pieces, almost like the crabmeat that is usually in pasta dishes -- I was very happy about this because I didn't have to spend time at lunch handling large shrimp or their annoying shells. I also had a delicious dessert of a small, rich ricotta cheesecake that sat in a light fruit sauce. A few pieces of canteloupe and pineapple complimented this dessert nicely and added a lot of zest to the rich ricotta. My co-worker said her cappuchino was well-made also. All in all, it was a very lovely lunch for under $70 (including tip), and we were served quickly as we told our waiter we had to be somewhere. The service was up to par and I had no criticisms whatsoever. I am definitely looking forward to our next business meeting in SoHo so I can head over to Savore again for lunch, but next time I will be sure to dine in their outside seating area if the weather allows.

long dinner – after walking around the neighborhood and looking for some place to eat, we ended up at Savore. seeing the big sign mentioning being a Michelin recommendation, I figured why not.

We started off w/ the Belga salad (endive, blue cheese, walnuts, & pears --- I'm not a fan of endive, this was not my choice) and the trio of tuna: tartare w/ avocado (nothing special, as I am very critical when it comes to this), grilled w/ peppercorn (the best one, very spicy), and Carpaccio (a lil too salty for me).

After what it seemed like 30mins, our entrees finally came out. I had the sliced sirloin w/ mash potatoes and tomato puree (this was ok, but the mash had a burnt taste to it which ruined the flavor). My bf had the tortellini w/ veal ragu which was pretty good but nothing to rave about.

I don't know about this place, the staff was really nice but I think we went on an off night bc they said they had a private party of about 100 that finished an hour before we got there so I'm sure they were tired and also, they were out of a lot of things on the menu.

Great Italian in Soho – With all the restaurants on Spring St., I find myself going back here when I'm in the mood for Italian. The homemade pasta and pesto is amazing, and its a great lunch spot when they have the sidewalk cafe open during nice weather.

Terrible all the way around. I'd eat at McDonalds over this place. – This place is horrible, I do not recommend at all. My three girlfriends took me here for my birthday celebration. The back room where they sat us was uncomfortably empty. The walls were covered with wine bottles and the way one waiter hovered over us, I got the feeling our table was blocking him from the bottle of wine that he wanted. A large group of drunken men at the bar made it difficult for us to have a conversation. The service was lousy and we were the only poeple in the restaurant. The food was not hot and bland in taste. At 10:30 techno-dance music started blaring so we couldn't hear anything. Terrible experience all the way around. I'd eat at McDonalds over this place.

Best Ossobucco in Soho – We've tried a few places south of Houston and have found this place to offer the best overall dining experience. The service is courteous and timely and everything from the bread to desserts and a healthy wine list makes us come back each time. Definetely on our A-list.

A Seinfeldean Nightmare. – This place managed to borrow from 2 Seinfeld episodes: the Chinese restaurant and the Car Rental (make reservation vs hold one). We arrived at 10PM for a 10PM New Year's Eve reservation and were told that we would be seated in 10 minutes. At 10:15 PM it was still 10 minutes; at 10:25, the couple at "our" table was paying; at 10:45 they were still paying; at 10:50 we left. Not only did they screw up the reservation, they lied to us about it. DISGRACEFUL!
