Single Worst Bar Experience Ever - DON'T GO! – This bar is officially CLOSING in a week and they have stopped all customer service. DO NOT GO! I went there to see a some bands recently and was shocked by the drunk, mean and insulting bartenders who refused to serve drinks (at a bar?). My friends and I had to leave after being cussed out by them (there was no provocation). Not a good idea to insult a bunch of attractive girls if you are a bar. The waitress apparently quit so there was no wait staff either. It's the same owner as Dempsey's Pub and Slainte Bar & Lounge - not ever going there either. What happened to Irish hospitality? I look forward to publishing my next review on these bars. Can you say ZERO rating!?

The warm feel of your local pub, despite its location on the tourist-trap section of Bleecker. – In Short
The former Cottonwood (home to late-'80s aspiring singer/songwriters like Lisa Loeb) has been reincarnated with local New York and NYU folk and folk-rock, bluegrass jams, poetry readings and open-mic nights. Boasting exposed brick and a friendly staff, as well as many up-and-coming artists in the city, this is the place to catch everything from solo acoustic acts to eight-piece salsa combos. Though not roomy, the layout is conducive to large groups.

Homophobic shakedown – On the way out, the doorman, who didn't do much of anything, felt it necessary to say, "Hope you and your boyfriend have a good night." Very nice.

Had a blast!!! – We caught the Big Apple Bluegrass Festival last night & we were we ever glad we did. Outstanding time had by all-the music was excellent and the pints were wet & smooth. It's definitely worth stopping by here for a good time when in The Village. Highly recommended!

Best Washington Square Area Bar – The Baggot Inn provides the perfect mix of neighborhood bar and live music club. Friendly and professional bartenders make everyone feel at home. Regular customers mix with music fans and the occasional tourist lucky enough to find this W. 3rd Street gem. Although its location is only one block from the rat/tourist traps of Bleecker Street, its atmosphere is miles away. The music isnt always great, but the Wednesday night bluegrass jam is always worth a trip. On any night of the week there is a good chance you will find something to your liking on the always-eclectic bill. For those that enjoy a drink more than music, The Baggot Inn has you covered. They pour a stiff drink and an excellent pint of Guiness. Definitely check it out

Sexy Musical Setting – I love the low lit setting of the music area. The setup of the stage is ideal for playing to a large or small audience. I heard an intimate performace by Patty Keough, a singer/songwriter who kicks someone like Jewel in the ass...Patty's voice is stunning and her original material shines with charm and wit. She'll be back again on 10/19/02; don't miss it! The acoustics rival other places in and around town and I can understand why musicians love it. The bartending/wait staff is pleasant - but the down side to going here is no food served! Be sure to eat before showing up. They will let you bring in something from outside...but I'd prefer to be able to order something in house!
