Always going to be a favorite – Have been going for over 10 years for Valentine's day here...it just keeps getting better...everyone is so attentive and you feel like family....the food is amazing! amazing...! From the stuffed lobster special to just plain old fried mozzarella....all is a treat and a definite must go to for Little Italy!

Great Service-Overpriced – My friend ordered the chicken, it was not very good.My meal was better, but nothing special. I visit New York twice a year, I have eaten at places in Little Italy I like better.

Best in country italian – Little italys gem. I am from Denver Co. and I proudly tell everyone I know it is the best resturant in the country. It is a "must" stop each time I am in NYC. Excellent menu, reasonable prices even on the premier selections, more than enough food, fair wine list, great house chianti, and bar none the best tiramisu I've ever had. There is still one place holding to old world values of fine dining, fairness, and (praise God) good service. The staff is commited to excellence and smiliing customers. Unlike most of the NYC customer care. Felt perfectly comfortable in my jeans sitting next to the suits and was treated with just as much respect. Thank you Da Nico.

Da Nico's - Keep Walking to Puglia's – Go to Puglia's two blocks down the road in Little Italy. Their decor needs updating here and there, but the food will make you think you are in Italy! Da Nico's food is not good tasting.

Tourists Beware! – Tourists beware!! We visited Da Nico while on vacation last week. Everything about Da Nico was heavenly. The food, the ambiance, the wait staff?.until the bill arrived and we discovered that our waiter had bait and switched us from the Veal Francese priced at $10.95 to the more expensive ?special of the day? which was a veal chop cooked in lemon, wine and butter for $39.95. We had no idea when we ordered this.

When placing our order the waiter simply told us the Veal Francese was a veal chop and asked us if that would that be okay. We told him no, we wanted the Francese to be pounded thin and sauteed and thus would not like the veal chop. He replied the chop would be thin and sauteed so we told him the Veal Francese as a chop would be fine.

When our meal arrived it was delicious but once we received the bill, we were furious. We confronted the waiter and he sheepishly maintained that he told us what we ordered was the special of the day. Rather than argue with him, we paid for the meal sans any tip.

Again, the food was great but beware when placing your order and ask before you eat that you are receiving AND paying for what you think you ordered!

Great food, friendly service – There was a street festival in Little Italy on this weekend, so all the restaurants had tables outside amongst the vendors selling zeppoles, sausage & peppers, handmade jewelry, and artwork. We chose this friendly little place because the menu looked promising. Our waiter was fabulous- friendly, quick and had the greatest little accent. We started with some appetizers to share- Calamari Fritti, Mozzarella Carozza (fried cheese) and he brought us a Margherita Pizza on the house. We shared their house salad, which had a very mild authentic Italian dressing. By the time my entree came, I was stuffed! I?m glad I was able to make room for my chicken special. I?ve always heard that the real Little Italy was in The Bronx (Arthur Avenue), but if you happen to be in lower Manhattan, Da Nico is a fabulous choice.

Great restaurant – Excellent restaurant. Service was just right and food was excellent. Moderately priced (especially for New York) and portions were good. The dining garden was a very pleasant surprise - truly a great place to get away from the crush / crowds for a bit.

Go somewhere else! – We went there yesterday...it was a total dissapointment. It was way overpriced, the waiter was rude, when we ordered Chianti wine, he just rolled his eyes because the wine was the cheapest on the menu...Actually, it turned out to be a good wine :-) The reccomendend special came out to double price of a regular entre! Plsu, my veal was so salty and bacon dry and overcooked..

Nice garden - that was the only thing that I liked about this restaurant.

not coming back there!

Good, but not outstanding – The charming, romantic outdoor patio at Da Nico is a great place to eat on a sunny day, no doubt about it. We went there for lunch, which is a very good deal there- much less expensive than going for dinner, I would assume. I had the chicken marsala, which was good, but not significantly better than that same dish at any other Italian restaurant. If I went to Da Nico again I would get something else; I think maybe if I'd had a pasta dish I would've been more impressed. I must say, though, that the free zeppoles at the end of your meal are a very nice touch and better than you'll get almost anywhere else :)
