I warn you as a previous lease holder, Firestone Villas are opportunist and will end up costing you in some way or another. They regularly raise rent on each cycle. So if you are not sure if you can move after first lease is up, this is something to consider. They are trying to sell properties, so if someone shows interest in the home you are currently living be prepared for the games. The management team (Husband and wife) are given $45 and hour after you move out for any work they do to prepare house for new tenants so be sure they will find some hours to bill against your deposit after you leave. Regardless of what out come is, I was told deposits are not refunded until 2 months after you move out. (Moved out June 30th and was told owner would not payout until end of August) They will charge you imaginary late days for key return once you leave property even if you return on time ($100 per day)and I was charged for two additional days. They charge for things like finger prints or smudges on windows, dirt in patio door track, different light bulbs than they require even if they are energy saver light bulbs, any discoloration of driveway like small rust spots that happen just with time, weeding grass or pouring grass seed even though there is are weed fields on side and back of complex that cross pollinates into complex yards. The list goes on and on on the unreasonable charges they come up with. I moved out of house on 30th of one month and they had new tenants in house on the 5th of next month but somehow they found enough work in 5 days to charged me my entire deposit amounts. I am good friends with the next door neighbor and she let me know he did not spend much time on the property before the new tenants moved in. They took the $1195 house deposit and the two pet deposits which were $300 apiece for a total of $1795. Now I supposedly own them an additional $179 on top of that. I caught a typo on itemized list for charge to take care of lawn. I was charged $231 for 3 hours of lawn care (3x$45=$135). I told management that the figures did not add up in which she responded that the lawn took $96 of grass seed. My lawn was green when I left and the plot the home is on is less than a half acre but somehow they found 3 hours of work and the need for $96 worth of grass seed. I will pay them because I do not have the time to fight this but I at least want to warn any potential new tenants of the predatory nature of the management team. The owner and the Management team are long time friends so do not think you can go above their heads if you are trapped in a situation like I am currently in. Best out is to find a more honest leasing company to do business with. They pose as very nice and catering people but it's all a ploy. Nice people don't steal from hard working people.
You judge but I am not the type to write reviews like this. I do not like for others to fall into the same type of traps that were laid for me whether I fell in or not.
