This go-to gym's red-and-white logo is widespread across all boroughs. – In Short
With expansion into the outer boroughs, Newark and Long Island, NYSC's locations have become so ubiquitous that New Yorkers are likely to have a location near work or home, if not both. This emphasis on convenience extends to its signature circuit training program, the 22-minute Xpressline--not to mention the range of equipment, from Cybex and Icarian machines to Hammer Strength free weights. Other offerings include classes that focus on core-strengthening, flexibility and kickboxing.

friendly staff, open 24 hours! – I didn't find the layout annoying at all. What, you can't walk up 4 flights of stairs? The place is big, and seems spacious, but above all, it's open continuously from Monday morning to Saturday night, which is great for a night person like me. Also, the locker rooms are higher quality and the showers are cleaner and better-maintained than the other clubs I've been to - 14th & 5th at Union Sq, & the ones on 16th, & 28thish.... could be because I only go at very off-peak hours, however.

This gym's red-and-white logo is ubiquitous in Manhattan and increasingly visible in surrounding areas. – The Scene
With expansion into the outer boroughs, Newark and Long Island, NYSC's locations have become so ubiquitous that New Yorkers are likely to have a location near work or home, if not both. Since many facilities have second-floor digs, clients who choose to workout in the day, still get a dose of the sun's rays. The decor is basically the equipment: the black and whites of Cybex and Icarian machines and mirrors that multiply Hammer Strength free weights into infinity.

The Workout
An emphasis on convenience extends to its signature circuit training program called "xpressline." This full-body exercise program rotates their everyman clientele through one-rep sets on various Nautilus machines, with the staff always a step ahead to set up the next piece of equipment. The entire routine takes a mere 20 minutes. Other patented offerings include "ClubA.B.S.," "club stretch" and "club kick," three classes which, respectively, focus on core-strengthening, flexibility and kickboxing.
