good location, ok food, good margaritas – i must say the location is great for this restaurant, .....the over sized margaritas were , i was there last night and the night was quiet...the upstairs sitting was good for me and my girlfriend...our server was awesome i must say, he made some really good recommendations about the food but me and my girl just wanted the awesome guacamole for 3 with some chips and margaritas......to top off the night we enjoyed a tequila thing that offered 3 shots for $18 bucks.....!!!

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING – Ok I will ADMIT...I didn't check the reviews....because this was TOTALLY spur of the moment.

It was my friend's birthday and was out and about before dinner....walked by and said...Let's grab a margarita before dinner...

We ordered the Patron Margarita...with Grand Marnier. The waiter (I will give him HUGE PROPS for this) "goes...they are ...ready kids.....no your aren't.....ready NOW...they are $34 A PIECE...it was a Birthday and I had a bottle of Dom P for later....so I go..OK. Well he FORGOT 1 IMPORTANT FACT...the Grand Marnier was A FREAKING ADDITIONAL CHARGE.....They have the B*LLS to CHARGE $37 for a drink.

AVOID this PLACE....I am SO SORRY I didn't read this beforehand.

avoid at all costs ! – what can i say that hasnt already been said ..........pay attention to the reviews, i was willing to give this place a chance regardless of the awful reviews....a very big mistake!

the management might want to have a look at the city search website and check out the number of poor reviews ( just a thought)

as they say when you enjoy a meal you tell 5 of your friends , however when you have had a truly horrible expierence in a restaurant you will tell a whole lot more ! their problems stem from incompetent management

YOU'VE GOT TO BE F*$#!@% KIDDING ME!!! – What you need to know about me...1.) I used to work here back at the turn of the century, 2.) I've always sort of have liked the food, and 3.) I've been here twice in the last month and a 1/2. Which is why I have to say...

YOU HAVE TO AVOID THIS PLACE!!! I went with my GF for a late-drink and small meal. We were sat (the high point of the visit) and then given our menus. We were asked if we wanted chips and salsa and were told it was $2 DOLLARS. Mind you, this isn't $2 for unlimited chips and salsa, but PER SERVING. We had been there just recently and were not charged in this manner. I asked for the manager and was told they had been doing it for 2 months. Whatever. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. But that was just the start.

Next we ordered margaritas. Of course, the waitress tried to up-sell the drink to the $14, large drink in which you get to keep the souvenier glass. But we asked for the regular sized (smaller) drink. She returned the LARGE DRINK anyway and when I refused them and reminded her that we asked for the small ones, she was nice and went to get them. She then RETURNED AGAIN WITH THE LARGE DRINK AND THE SMALL GLASSES so we could see how much bigger they were than the small in hope of just taking the large. What you have to know is that THIS IS COMMON PRACTICE. I can recount many times while working there that they would give us the wrong size at the bar and when the customer refused I was told to sell it anyway by showing them the small glasses. IT'S A SCAM.

The was food average to below-average (Guacamole was okay but just as expensive as the Rosa Mexicano or Dos Caminos and not nearly as good).

FOR THE MONEY, DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!!!

Overpriced, tourist trap – This place is really expensive and caters to the tourist crowd. If you want good authentic mexican food there are plenty of better places in the city, particularly in Spanish Harlem.

COMPLETELY OVERPRICED FOR AVERAGE FOOD – ZERO STARS(city search made me choose one)

I went last night,, had 2 burgers with 2 frozen margaritas and appetizer. 71 dollars with tip!!!!

This place is completely overpriced.... and the food wasnt that great...appetizer was a very small portion and cost 10 dollars.

14 dollars is the cost of one frozen margarita..... so drinks for two costs 30 dollars when you add tax!

ZERO STARS!!! The people who own this company should really try to think of the customer more.

THUMBS DOWN!

worst experience ever, do not go – We just went for lunch. the prices are ridiculous and the food is not NEARLY good enough to put up with the terrible service we got. You'd think the staff thought they were at the Beverley Hills Four Seasons and their patrons just a bunch of homeless bums walking into the restaurant. My friend asked for a little salsa with her meal, when it didn't come with the MEXICAN food she ordered, and an extra $2 was added to our bill. Upon splitting the bill on 2 cards, they rounded up, and did not charge the exact cost. The staff yelled at us and when i requested a manager, i was blatantly ignored after being told to "go away". Oh yeah, the hostess called my friend trash for asking if the $16 HOUSE margarita made with WELL tequila (and not much tequila, at that) was listed on the bill correctly. Never going back. apparently i'm not the only one with this experience.

Worst dining experience in the city ever – I went to Caliente Cab last night to have dinner with some friends, and we had the worst dining experience ever. First, no one came over to our table for 10 minutes. It took us another 10 minutes to get water, which we had to ask for 2 times, and it was 90 degrees outside! The margaritas were watered down and contained almost no alcohol. Our waitress, when we would ask her for things, would just go stand in a corner and stare out into space. She did this for the entire time we were there, neither being attentive to any of her tables or actually doing any work. Her name was Blair and I have to say she was the most inattentive, lazy, and slowest waitress I?ve ever had. After spending another couple of minutes trying to flag her down, we went to order. She knew nothing about the menu ? we?d order something and she?d flip a menu open, read the description, and then ask ?what kind of meat??, etc. When one of the girls at our table went to order an entree with no mushrooms, she refused, insisting that this was impossible. She snapped at our friend when we questioned this, as its something she's ordered before in the same chain. Eventually, we called the manager over to complain, which we don?t like to do as three of us have worked in restaurants (as servers, bartenders, AND managers) for years. He added more alcohol to our drinks but charged us for this, and made excuses for the waitress because it was indeed possible to order something without mushrooms. Waiting for the check was another fiasco. The food and drink weren?t even good, and everything on the menu was grossly overpriced. I won?t ever eat in one of these restaurants again, and don?t suggest anyone else does either. There?s a million restaurants on 7th Ave South, all much more enjoyable with good service. Caliente Cab should be embarrassed for the service we received, and should have at least had the decency to send over a complimentary round of drinks. Bad service, bad management, bad place!!!!

Terrible, do not go! – I visited this restaurant at the Newark Airport. It all started when I asked for chips and salsa to go with our drinks. I asked again. Still to this day have not gotten chips and salsa (maybe they planned to mail them to me?) Then, took our waiter forever to "find" the time to take our order, and we got the nachos. Then it took almost an hour for the food to come. The last straw was when a business traveler seated near us was asked to leave the establishment for only ordering a soda. Now, I could understand if this place had been packed, but it wasn't. There were empty tables everywhere. We confronted the guy who called himself the manager, but were confused when he said if we were unhappy he could "call the manager"! He explained that it was the restaurant's policy to eject patrons (in an airport?) who simply come there to wait. WTF?!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS PLACE. They definitely need to clean house. Oh, and the food and drinks? Overpriced and average.
