BURRITO LOCO MEXICAN RESTAURANT – NOT TO EXAGERRATE, BUT BEING A CUSTOMER AT THIS RESTAURANT FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS MAKES ME ONE OF THOSE "FOOD PICKY" INDIVIDUALS WHO BECAME A "BIG FAN" OF THE BEST, AUTHENTIC MEXICAN CUISINE I HAVE EVER TASTED IN MY LIFE HERE IN NYC. IT IS LIKE BEING IN THE REAL COUNTRY (MEXICO) WHERE SERVICE AND AMBIANCE MAKE THE ENTIRE MOMENT OF STAY WORTH SPENDING FOR!
THIS IS A FOOD SERVICE ESTABLISHMENT THAT YOU WILL NOT FEEL SORRY ABOUT WHENEVER YOU NEED TO REFER FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS AND ACQUAINTANCES TO HAVE A DAY FULL OF FUN AND GREAT ENTERTAINMENT.
FROM THE OWNER TO THE STAFF... NO DOUBT THEY ARE ALL WELCOMING, INVITING AND PLEASANT.
MY BEST FRIEND (WHO ALWAYS GO WITH ME FOR SUMPTUOUS DINNER AND ENJOYABLE DRINK), WOULD AND WILL ALWAYS RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AS ONE OF THE TOP DINING AREAS IN TOWN.
DON'T WAIT... EAT AND BE MERRY FOR TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY TO THINK OF GOING BACK TO BURRITO LOCO!
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE SOON!

El burrito Loco – okk well recently i have gone to el burrito loco so far everytime i go i get excellent service the waiters are very nice.
The food is very good also the drinks are very delicious i enjoy talking to the manger he was very polite & their waiters are very motive.
I do recommed this restarurant it was a very pleasant evening to enojy a couple of drinks & eat comfortably.
Terrible customer service, money hungry – I have been here 3 times and had a terrible experience for 2 of them. The waiters are very nasty.. they roll their eyes at you and take a long time to bring drinks to the table. One time, the waiter even brought drinks to the table that we never even ordered and refused to bring them back! At my most recent tripe there, we had a fairly large party, but we checked about 30 minutes in advance to make sure it wouldn't be a problem and they told us we wouldn't have issues. When they seated us, they would not seat 6 people from our party and began to take other groups in fron tof them. There was also an empty table right next to ours that they could have been seated at but it was for a "reservation" (when my friend called she was told they don't take reservations- the table was also empty the entire time we were there). After about 10 minutes of this the 6 people from our group left to go to another place. When we got the bill they had the nerve to charge us a $60 gratuity tax and when we asked why it was so high it was bc 18 people had taken up their seats which was a complete lie.
I highly recommend that you avoid going here unless you want to be treated like a piece of dirt.
The happy hour complaints are founded... – I too experienced this problem. My first trip I couldn't stop raving to my BF about the place so the next time we were up for Mexican I invited him along. We had the same experience with the bill seeeming "off". Because we were with coworkers, we didn't make a big deal of it and just paid. However, that being said, I don't think it was equitable to take advantage of our group considering we stayed there and ordered food and tipped VERY well. It doesn't affect that the food was nice and the waitstaff was friendly, but it does keep me from returning -- something that should be considered by management when they make the decision to allow this to happen.
False happy hour ad and tricked register. Please read! – Not only the false happy hour ad they have and did not honore even though I spoke to the Manager who lied offering free round and never did but 4 minutes before happy hour was up I ordered another round of drinks and they said that it will be at full price because the register had the clock forward 10 minutes and they could not do anything about it, WHAT A SCAM!, oviously they are money thirsty and don't care about the customers. Aren't the restaurants audited in new york? if not I will and won't be going there anymore nor my friends and anybody I talk to, luckly there are thousands of mexican rests in N.Y.
Mr. Burrito loco, don't treat your csr that way cause you will be going out of business, my table spent that night over $200.00 which you will never see again from me nor my friends or customers.
Food was great sevice sucked.
think again – FOOD WAS MEDIOCRE BUT THEY ADVERTISE A HAPPY HOUR SPECIAL AND THEN DO NOT HONOR- WENT WITH A GROUP FOR $4 MARGARITAS AND AFTER HAVING TO CHASE THE WAITERS DOWN F OR DRINKS(THAT WERE NOT COLD WHEN THEY ARRIVED TO THE TABLE,)WE PAID FULL PRICE FOR EVERY DRINK AND WOULD NOT RELENT-I'LL NEVER GO BACK- DON'T FALL IN THEIR TRAP
good music, good margheritas. – the food here is good, but not amazing. good place to check out for something in expensive and good food. good margheritas. friendly service. great music. chips and salsa rock.
Great Guacamole... Decent Service... and a gut-wrenching ride home – We went here on a Friday night after locating good reviews and rating on this site... so I feel I should tell you what it was really like.
We arrived around 9 PM and were promply seated, 2 top. Service was good, staff was nice and attentive as was the manager that evening. We ordered a Mojito and a Sol beer, the Mojito was good... beer tasted old. We got the chips and guacamole, which is exceptional. Honestly... the Guacamole was that good. For dinner I ordered the chef special, a seafood fajitafor $18.00 that contained 6 shrimp, 4 small portions of salmon, 4 rings of unbattered somewhat chewy calamari and then a entire plater of onions and bell peppers. Honestly the plater they served the entree on was so big, I was using my fiances portion of the table as well as my own. With the meal came 4 stale tortillas, a side dish with sour cream and guacamole and a additional side plate with bad rice and runny refried beans. I tasted both, and didn't eat any more. All in all... the meal was horrible. I have never had such a stomach ache as I did after leaving there. My fiance had the "Loco Burrito" as was equally dissatisfied, and equally effected.
To sum it up, the meal, with tip ran $78.00 (if you don't add the $6.00 I spent on Gas-X) and all I could think about was why I didn't just return to the Rocking Horse Cafe, where I know they make good mexican food. If you are in the mood for Mexican, try the Rocking Horse Cafe it was much better.
Best mole sauce on the East Coast – My husband and I joke that we dream about the mole sauce at Burrito Loco, but we're only half-kidding. The burritos poblano are a regular order for us. The mole makes them fantastic. This time we got some other chicken poblano dish that came with corn tortillas and fried plantanos. Amazing! The guacamole and homemade chips and salsa are addictive. The margaritas are delicious and have always been plenty strong when we've ordered. The service is attentive and friendly. Yes, it's loud and cramped, but it's part of the charm. Oh, and they never hesitate to bring more chips or anything else when we ask! This time we ordered a side of extra plantanos and they made just as yummy of a dessert as the bananas flambe.
great guacamole, even better banana margaritas – go here and order guacamole and some margaritas, enjoy the fresh made salsa with a little kick in it. The food is always good here and ive been coming here routinely for 4 years. We had just a little hiccup with the bill last time we went the waiter came over and apologized and offered us all free tequila shots. Usually the restaurant just says ?oh well and tough luck?. I will be going back here for some time to come, as long as my gf keeps dragging me here for the guacamole. And to the other poster if you want more chips just ask, it would look a little silly to put 8 pounds of tortilla chips on every table.
