Dear old Chumley's. The first time my husband who grew up in The Village, took me there I was fascinated. The cobblestones in the courtyard made me hear horses neighing from long ago.

We went to Chumley's often. It was ALWAYS great. I loved the secrecy of the place. Mem'ries..

I truly miss this place. I went there when I first moved in the tri-state area and it became my "regular" spot after that. I really enjoyed the atmosphere especially during winter when they had the fireplace going.. A very cozy place. I liked the people that worked there. Hope it reopens one day.

I love(d) this place, just not on a Friday or Saturday night. – I really hope this amazing spot opens again. Though avoid it on an Friday or Saturday night. It's a mess with college kids and good luck trying to find a place to stand, let alone sit. And to get a drink you better grab 3 since you'll have to wait another hour in line.

But...I have spend a few afternoons with friends enjoying the atmosphere, food and beer. A classic place never to be forgotten (by me). And, I will never forget "finding" the "secret" door.

Chumley's – 06/27/2007 - I don't know how recent this is, however it is the message you recieve when sending them an email. Gina's number is listed at the end of the message.

Due to the building problems our landlord is having, ( our building which used to be a stable, was built in the mid 1800's), we will sadly be closed for, OMG, another month!. In the mean time, we will be taking reservations for future dates.

Reservations: we take reservations for parties of 6 or more

For private parties, large reservations or any other queries, please

send me the details and i will get back to you shortly.

For an immediate response, you may call me at 917.488.2327

thank you, gina

Good beer – I heard about this place from a friend. We went and it was very crowded... The raspberry beer was very good. We didn't get to eat... but I heard that the burgers are very good here.

Poor customer service and very cold. – We visited here at 2pm on Monday and it wasn't a great experience. There was only us and another couple there!! It was really cold in the bar and I could see my breath in the air in front of me even though I was indoors!!! The barman was not conversational at all and made us feel like it was an inconvenience to him to serve us. The cider tasted like pear juice too. Despite all this, it was worth going just to see it as we were visiting the area. I would have felt it was a wasted journey if I had travelled all the way there just to visit Chumley's. The decor is good and it's an interesting place to see.
