BROADWAY BRUNCH IS 5 STAR – Went to Sunday Broadway Brunch last weekend and OMG it was the best. Ginger Snapt did all the best from Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors and even defied gravity in Wicked! All of Broadways greatest hits plus bunch with unlimited mimosas and bloody marys for $20. The food was your average brunch fare of eggs, pancakes, eggs benedict, etc. I had the smoked salmon plate which was great! The drinks flowed freely all afternoon. The new Lips is a a great space but as I found out reserve early as brunch sells out two weeks in advance. Bravo Ladies of Lips- You are the new queens of Broadway!
NEW YORK'S HIDDEN RHINESTONE! – Went to Lips to celebrate with a group of friends last Saturday and it was over the top! Unlike other places where the queens dance in the aisles, Lips is a true Drag Showpalace with a full stage and a real show! Ariel Sinclair rocks! We saw the glitz and glamour show and the Laides of Lips pulled out all the stops. Our waiter??/?? waitress the Lovely All Beef Patty took care of us and kept the cocktails flowing. The frozen cosmo's are super strong. The place also has a full menu and the filet mignon was tender and tasty. Be prepared as this place is packed on the weekends. This was a perfect start to a night on the town.
Completely Sucked – Was sorely disappointed with LIPS despite advertisements claiming the place as fun. Attended on a Saturday (2.25.12) for a birthday celebration with friends expecting a great time and was floored with the overall experience---terrible! The place is suitable for a recent transplant to the City or a Midwestern tourist with plaid shorts and colored socks worn with sandals at a hefty price. Please save your money. You’ll be better off going to Lucky Cheng’s in the E. Village for a more City-adult-cooler vibe. The show was ok, at best. Food completely sucked; we didn’t finish the dishes. Drinks average. Overall vibe was very Time-Squarish with a twist of a sweet sixteen bash.

this place is so fun – i went for my birthday and i loved the place i had a great time ... they made me get on the floor and everything .. i have great memories
THE BEST DRAG SHOW IN THE USA! – A friend brought me to Lips last night and I thought, OK this might be ok, but it wasnt just ok, IT WAS FABBBBULOUS!
The hostess Ariel Sinclair was so funny I never stopped laughing all night long. The show included lip syncing, live singing, Cher, Madonna and the hostess having her way with the audience. The place was packed with ervething from bacheloettes, to queens, to old society folk from the Upper East Side. I heard Lips moved to this new show palace recently and it is spectacular, as the host said its like "Beatlejuice designed Ken and Barbies dream house on acid". Huge chandeliers, jewels, fake pink leapord skin fur wall paper and about a million pounds of glitter.
The food was good to. I had the filet mignon which was thick and juicy and for dessert we had a foot high piece of delicious red velvet cake.
I reccomend LIPS to everyone. It is a night out you will never forget! Bravo Ladies. Thanks!
Not bad – We went there for my best friend's 25th birthday last month. We had a lot of fun. Got a fun (and surprisingly accurate) reading from a colorful, hillarious tarot reader. Drag waitress was very nice and attentive. Very flamboyant, over-the-top, and raunchy drag queens, just the way I like 'em :o).Drinks were delicious.
I have to say though that the food was not that good and personally, felt it was too expensive. And while there were a few memorable performances (Hanky Panky and F- Me are permanently burned into my memory lol), a good chunk of them were sort of bland. The two main hostesses seemed to be in a rush getting all the bday folks, brides-to-be, and contests on and off the stage so it took the fun out of those parts a little bit. But all in all, it was a great, fun night.
The queens are what really makes this place worth revisiting.
Time of my life! – I am from California and this was my first time visiting New York. Our first night we decided to check out Lips because we had heard so many great things about it. As soon as we walked in we knew we were going to have a blast! The atmosphere is so welcoming and inviting and all of the Drag Queens are so friendly and interactive with the tables. The decor is fun and beautiful and theThe food was amazing, Lobster raviolis, and shrimp fetticini alfredo were both delicious and the drink special was frozen cosmos that we couldn't get enough of. The Drag Queens made us funny baloon shapes to play with and the show they put on was incredible and over the top. Our favorite performance was Beyonce's Single Ladies. The crowd went wild. There were lots of birthdays and bachelorette parties. Overall it was one of the most exciting nights in NYC. Next time I am in NYC Lips is a must!!!
VERY DISAPPOINTED ...WHAT A DRAG :( – I wanted to take my sister out for one last wild night before she got married. We found LIps on the internet and it looked promising. So I gathered ten of my most fun friends and planned for a fabulous night. When we got there, we waited forever. And there was no one there. When we were finally seated, we ordered a round of drinks that took another oddly long amount of time. then when another table arrived, forget about it. we were ignored most of the rest of the evening. They could seem to get it together. The show was short and not very exciting. We tried our best to have a good time, but the expensive menu was terrible. And we left feeling like it was a complete waste of money and time. Please don't believe any of the hype. It was very disappointing.
Dragtastic! – over the top,fantastic,delicious..all words i would use and my party used to describe our night at Lips.i was there a week ago for my friends 31st birthday.he is a very hard guy to please and we were all nervous with our decision.our fears were put immeadiatey to rest when we walked through the doors..the restaurant looks like a barbie dream home.over the top glitz.our waitress was a large cotton candy haired drag queen who was bawdy and hilarious.we all started with their trademark frozen cosmos..they were delicious and quite strong.because we were a party of ten or more we were put on a prefixe.we opted for the 35 dollar menu.the food was quick to the table and very good..far better then expected.the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was loose,a mix of sweet sixteen partie, bachelorettes and housewives from nj.everyone was laughing and seemed to really be enjoying it.the show started after 8 and was really fun..the girls all performed different numbers and some were very interactive with the audience.the hostess Ariel was very funny .i can honestly say everyone at my table left having a great time..a few have already made reservations to come back...this place is a definite must for anyone looking to do something special for someone you love.ill be back soon
NOT good. – Is this what drag has come to ? Messy messy messy. Oh honey...the "celebrity impersonations" were tragic. I couldn't tell who was trying to be what ! "Dolly Parton" looked more like Dog the Bounty Hunter ! I think the guy who looked like more like Howard Stern was suppose to be Katy Perry ? Ugh. The food was terrible and expensive. The service was nonexistent. Just bad all around. Ugh.
