Broken fingernail in my food – I was at the restaurant on a Tuesday night for dinner. We ordered a few appetizers, entrees, and a bottle of wine. As I was eating a leaf from the stuffed artichoke appetizer, I almost ate a dirty broken fingernail that was stuck in the bread crumb mixture. I freaked out at the site of the fingernail and immediately called the manager over. He was very apologetic because he did not want me to make a scene in front of other guests. He took the fingernail and went back to the kitchen to find the owner of the nail, but comes back minutes later to say that no one in the kitchen had long nails or any missing ones. He onces again apologized. If the fingernail did not belong to anyone in the kitchen this means that they did not clean the artichoke at all prior to cooking. This in itself is also gross and tells you the quality of the food there. I normally would have walked right out of the restaurant, but I was with colleagues and my boss and did not want to make a scene so we stayed for the entire meal. The entire time I felt quite nauseous and the image of the fingernail was on my mind. When the bill came the manager did comped us a few of our items, but not enough to justify what I had just gone thru. I was so grossed out by the broken fingernail that I will never go back there. Also, I can never eat stuffed artichoke again without images of the fingernail popping into my head.

The best baked clams ever – My absolute favorite old school neighborhood italian restaurant. The baked clams are to die for !

All the neighborhood folk in the west village love this place .You can actually have a conversation without

having to strain to be heard. The service is impeccable . The penne perfecto !! Take it from a fellow native NY italian paisano you must eat here !

Awesome Italian – This place is romantic, very reasonable, awesome tiramisu, and they actually give you boiling hot water when you order tea.

Located in the west village, it is a cute date spot or good for a couple friends.

Tucked Away Italian Bistro – This is a charming Italian restaurant on little Carmine Street, and should be visited by all. With authentic regional cuisine and tons of charm, everyone will have fun at this fantastic dining experience.

Rock Solid Italian – Went with a mate and found everything we tried to be of the highest quality. Staff were helpful and attentive which is all you can ask. I can recommend the specials board which offered additional seasonal variety to the menu.

What a find – I had dined here prior to moving to NYC. I have never had a mediocre meal here, everything has always been top notch. Everytime I have out of towners visiting, we go to Marinella's. Atmosphere can be both quiet and romantic or enjoyed by a group. Recommend sitting in the front dining room, more atmosphere. Have always enjoyed the Mussells, the lamb chops, the portabella mushroom is out of this world, even the simple pasta dishes are wonderful. I recommend that you not use the menu and order off the chalk board. Have also ordered things that we not on the menu, like broccoli rabe and gnocchi, and it was delicious. Now that I have moved out of the NYC area, I am looking forward to my visit this Sat. It is always the first thing we think of when we think dinner in NYC.

Good Deal – I dined at Marinella's last night with some fellow college students and found that the restaurant met all of our needs: nice and quiet ambience, good italian food with hearty portions, and of course, all at a reasonable price. The service was average, but the food was really good and not just your average italian food. The menu also featured an extensive specials list. We all agreed that the nice atmosphere and good food all for a reasonable price was well worth it.
