Disrespectful Chef Unsafe Place.! – Since we were new to the neighborhood, my Uncle and I have decided to go out for some Asian food on Friday night (more specifically the night of April 6th) and we discovered what seemed to be this great and new local place for us in Miami Beach to try, since we love seafood restaurants.

We got to the restaurant around 11:30 PM and NO ONE noticed us as we walked through the front door, NO ONE presented any menus and/or directed us to any table whatsoever, so we figured it was more like a laid-back kind of place and we sat ourselves down. We were still ignored, so we went from the bar/lounge to the actual restaurant sitting area for some service and we finally got to be noticed after waiting for a while.

We started enjoying our dinner together and (Mike) was our server for the night, he gave us some recommendations and everything.

We first ordered the Shrimp Dumplings, which were really good and after that we had some sushi with octopus, yellow tail and some tuna, and we also shared the duck as main entree and this is where it all started to go more than wrong...

...The server asked us how was our food, and I replied back telling him - the fish looks fresh and is very good but I DON’T think it was a very good sushi roll because the rice fell apart on my plate and in the sauce as well. -

The server apologized and he said to me “I’ll make sure to let the chef know”.

Next thing we know someone walks towards our table with a piece of sushi in his hand and a plate with soy sauce in the other, very upset and yelling at me, unprofessionally, he starts spilling sauce all over the plate with an aggravated attitude telling me this is how to dip sushi into the sauce and that he has been a chef for over 25 years and then he walked away. I demanded my server to speak to a general manager about this incident in the middle of our dinner and I just couldn’t believe they would allow someone to approach my table and start insulting us in front of every other customer around. He got even closer to me and my Uncle was shocked that someone would have done something like that and we just didn’t know what to do. We felt threatened.

The server said that he had known the chef for over 10 years now and that he always acts like a 13 year old kid in front of other customers too. The server claimed to have called the owners and explained what just happened which I completely doubt. Then the server offered a free complimentary dinner that night but my Uncle decided to pay for it anyways because we are “decent people”, the server insisted and after him walking away with the money left at the bar, we gave the bartender a $25.00 worth of tip to hand over to the server later on because of his service, and we requested to speak to the owners first thing Monday morning. We were told owners were on a cruise ship and they were not coming back till the end of the week and we still wish someone would have contacted us in regards of our letter sent to them at the location but we still haven’t heard from them yet.

People insulting customers just because of their personal opinions is not right, we were so upset that we are not coming back to this place ever again.

I just do not understand how come no one will do anything about any employee behavior so that is why we decided to leave this review for everyone to see. Thanks to people like him this place is completely unsafe and unreliable. We were so upset over what was supposed to be a great place. Never again will I be coming to this unethical restaurant thanks to the so called “chef”.
