Worst Business I Have Ever Dealt With!! – This is the worst business I have ever dealt with!
I took my boyfriend's boots in for a shine and resole. They told me it would be ready by the following Wednesday. I went in Wednesday afternoon and the boots weren't ready. They told me to come back at 5, I came back the next morning and they still weren't ready! They told me another day. Finally when they were ready they didn't even shine them and charged $65!!
Stupidly I took them back for a new liner a few weeks later, I asked them to shine them as well. They told me they would be ready a week later, Friday. I came back to get them the Wednesday following the Friday they were supposed to be ready and guess what!? They weren't ready. I waited while they finished along with the rest of the staff sitting there watching TV like they always are! The lady charges me $25 for the lining and $10 for the shine. I asked for a discount this time due to them being late twice. The lady immediately cut me off and yelled "No discount! you weren't here to get them Friday!" Ridiculous!! Then I told her that is not how to do business and she rdely said "go to the lady on State and see if she'll give you a discount!" I've never been treated so poorly!!
Do not go to this business for anything!!
Worst service I have seen in many many moons – I dropped a pair of shoes off, along with a wallet and belt for what seemed like 15 minutes of repair work. I returned to the store twice, once when the items were supposed to be fixed AND two weeks after.
Both times, they had not even begun fixing my items.
The lady at the counter told me I should have called before coming in to check if the items were fixed. This is absolutely crazy for anyone that wants their customers to be satisfied
EXCELLENT JOB ON A DIFFICULT REPAIR – I took in some very expensive (Lucchese) boots that had been badly scuffed and discolored. The color was an unusual light pumkin so difficult to match. In response to my question as to how to remove the black marks, they helpfully told me to use rubbing alcohol. They recommended, though, that to restore the boots to like-new condition, I let them re-dye them. They did a wonderful job and one week later I had boots that looked brand new.
This place must be closed immediatelly – I asked to polish my military oxfords for a very special once in a lifetime occasion. The "polish" came off during the first 2 minutes of wearing the shoes. When I went back for refund, I was told to "get the hell out", I was m/f'ed and f..you'ed...by a man behind the counter (male hispanic in his 50-ies ) when I insisted on the refund.
The worst service in the lifetime. This place should be raided and closed down immediatelly. This man in this store doesn't belong in Santa Barbara. Horrible.
DO NOT GO TO NORTHSIDE- Rude people who don't care about customers – DO NOT GO TO NORTHSIDE- They treat customers rudely and refuse to stand by their work (or lack of it.)
In July of 2008 I asked them to replace an inner sole. However, they lost my shoes; every time I'd go to check on them and show them the ticket, they'd say they still couldn't locate them.
I was always polite, said don't worry about it, keep trying.
Finally, two weeks ago (beg. of Dec.) they found the shoes; I was delighted, until I realized that after all this time, the work hadn't been done (!)
I was still polite, still courteous, but I suggested to the lady (the repair guy was out) that it might be a nice gesture for them to do the work and not charge me, since they had kept me waiting for almost six months.
The lady completely refused, saying "no way is he going to do that. just take the shoes and go." I was dumbfounded: six months they can't find my shoes, and they refuse to do ANYTHING AT ALL to try to make it up to me?! I said fine, but be assured that I will tell everyone I know about the kind of service I got here.
Yesterday, Dec. 22, I decided to go back and see if we could work it out. When I went in I made a point of shaking the guy's hand, being very courteous. I said look, this is what happened. I waited months and months and the work wasn't even done. What do you suggest you can do to compensate me for this?
He interrupted me repeatedly and refused to do anything. He accused me of not having the ticket, which was a lie; I had shown the ticket every single time I had gone in. If I hadn't, they wouldn't even have looked, since their policy is that if you lose the ticket, you don't even get your shoes back.
He wouldn't even listen to me. "I don't want customers like you! Take the shoes and go. I don't care what you do!" I was just dumbfounded....
All I can say is: DO NOT GO TO NORTHSIDE. I work in a very public job and I will make sure that as many people as possible avoid going there.
