Worst bartender EVER – A group of friends and I went here last week. We have been to Iguana over a dozen times since its close to work and has great nachos. 3 bartenders were behind the bar and one in particular was atrocious. We could never get her attention to serve us as she spent most of the time talking to one customer in particular. I used to bartend and understand its fun to be social but she looked like a patron having a conversation most of the night rather than keeping check ever now and then on the bar. A forgiveable attribute since the other bartenders were attentive and kind.

now our group: One person had a card down however many were paying as they went and the people that were sharing the tab kept tipping the 2 good bartenders. At the time we had asked for our check only the one extremley rude bartender with short thin hair was there. She snapped at our group that she had to tally it up and tried t over charge us. When one of the girls who had been drinking only club soda the whole time spoke up, the blonde bartender said she didnt know what to tell us since she never served us and gave us a HUGE attidtude! I am extremley patient and dont like confrontation much and I couldnt believe someone, let alone someone in the service industry would treat customers like this.

Since she was adament about the fact she never served us, we decided not to tip her but rather the other 2 bartenders that had been there. Which was rightfully so after the manner in which she argues about our check.

When she saw we did not leave her anything, she stared down the one person who happened to have the card down and called out her first name, condesendingly and clearly being sarcastic saying , Thank you so much!

I have never been so turned off by a place!! All those times I have been there after work all the money we have spent there... and this is how we were treated last thursday. Just terrible service and bartenders like that hould rethink their careers.

Great Management – I've been a regular for many years and the manager Nino at Iguana's has been the best! Nino is professional and really cares. I have only heard great things about him and the staff. It's a great place to go and have a wonderful night.

Totally Disagree w/the previous review about Iguana and the Manager. – I DISAGREE with the previous review. I was introduced to Iguana in Feb. of this year & have been back there every week since! I would highly recommend the upstairs vs. the downstairs of IGUANA, DEFINITELY! The reason I love the UPSTAIRS the most though, is the atmosphere: the music, the food, the dimly lit dining, the DANCING & the service you get. The food is great & I love that you can dance in this place. I recommend making reservations to this place on the weekends especially on a Friday night.

Addressing the comment made about the manager in the previous review. I think that statement about the Thursday night was a lie. I've been to Iguana on different days of the week. Not only is there nothing happening upstairs on a Thursday. To this day, I've never seen Nino, the manager, hang out at the DJ booth - let alone drink with the DJs. This to me is a lie. He has always acted in very professional manner. He tries to cater to your every need when you are there & works with you so that your event/birthday goes as smoothly as possible. I was just there last night for a birthday party & we had a ball!! He helped make my friend's birthday a special one. So I think the person who wrote that review is a very vindictive person with nothing better to do. Not only is Nino a professional but the staff upstairs are as well. Florentine is a great bartender & Melissa, the waitress, really works hard and is very cordial to everyone. She too catered to our every whim last night. Oh & the DJs on a Friday play great Latin music as well.

In fact, I'm planning to celebrate my birthday there in 2 weeks!! Can't wait!! I prefer the upstairs myself as you can probably tell because it attracts a nicer crowd of people. There is a cover charge free before 7, $5 from 7-9 & then $10 after plus they even have a free dance class from 7-8 on Fridays. I take all my friends here & never get let down, 5 stars without a doubt in my book.

WORST MANAGEMENT EVER – I went to Iguana a few weeks ago (Oct. 8, 2008) to dance with some friends, on a Thursday night. The place was pretty empty, so my friend and I decided to go to the DJ booth to request music. The DJ was in the booth with the club manager (Nino) they were DRINKING BEERS and refused to play the music we wanted to hear.

I was so disappointed especially since the company I work for hosted our Christmas party there last year and spent allot of money. The CLUB MANAGER (Nino) was very RUDE and told my friend and I that there was no one in the club and he would not play the music that we wanted to hear; to me that was very unprofessional and inconsiderate.

I consider myself an individual that works hard for my money and for a club manager to consider me a no one is very degrading. I work for a reputable hotel chain as a Concierge and guest often come to me requesting a good place to eat or dance, I would not hesitate to refer Iguana as the place to go.

FABULOUS! – I came here for my birthday dinner on 10/18 and it was SO GOOD! We started off with the table-side guac - DELICIOUS! It was perfectly seasoned to our taste! We also got 2 pitchers of margaritas which were a bit strong (nothing wrong with that) and tasty as well! The atmosphere is beautiful, very romantic, relaxing, and fun! There's also a lounge downstairs which is awesome if you want to burn those calories off after eating! The food itself was amaazing, so so so good! I got the burritos, but EVERYONE at my table (there were 10 of us) loved their dishes (fajitas, mex quesadilla, enchilladas). It was my birthday so the whoel staff came out and sang happy birthday to me in spanish and english and came with a chocolate cake with rasperries, strawberries, and vanilla ice cream (YUM!). I definitley definitely recommend this place, it was wonderful, great experience, definitely going bak!

Nice place to get your dance on for FREE. – The club scene is not the upscale NYC quality but the music was good. Nice mix between hip hop, reggae, and spanish music. Bartenders and Bouncers were friendly and attentive. Bathroom lady was a DOLL they need to give her a raise. If your looking for just a good place to dance and chill this is the spot.

Nothing Good about it – If you like cheesy places with horrible service, or showing up to a "club" to find out that 12 year olds have reserved it for a party then you may like this place. The interior was kind of cool, but the service sucked. The bartenders looked like they didn't want to be there or were just bar-backs trying their hand at serving. The drink list are a joke, 5 beers on tap and none of them latin american? Sure, they'll serve you a margarita if like waiting an hour for. Also don't expect to get your guacamole, even with a full staff there was no one there to make it and i had to request that they don't bring it. I wasn't advised that my snack would take hours to get.

Just a horrible place located conveniently for tourist. Unfortunately i was forced to go there.

It was my first time the other friday with my girlfriend. We got promptly seated by a nice hostess, and also had a very helpful waiter, oh let me think what was his name..Andreas, yes. Very helpful. Loved the food, had great drinks. Tell you what, this place is pretty pricey but as they say the location and the ambience. pay for it. Give it a shot!

I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO THE FOOD. MY PARTNER HAD THE BURRITO, WHICH WAS OK, BUT I HAD THE FISH. VERY POOR TASTE. I THINK THERE WAS NO SEASONING USED AT ALL. I WOULD WORK ON THE PRESENTATION A LITTLE TOO.TO USE SOME SEASONING IN THE KITCHEN WOULD MAKE THE FOOD MORE DELIGHTFUL. SERVICE WAS NICE. AMBIENCE BEAUTIFULL. DRINKS VERY GOOD. NO COMPLAINS. CLUB? I WOULD SAY IT IS TOO DARK, IT IS TIME TO REFRESH :)
