Worked out there a few times I went one Wednesday afternoon Went back Friday its no longer a GOLDS My travel pass was no longer accepted No notice of the change of ownership I woke up early to go work out there Would it have killed them to let me in??? Its now a Crunch GYM Ill never go to or spend money at a Crunch Gym Really tacky business practice not notifying anyone of a change of ownership
As far as gyms go this one has older equipment and does NOT have a good selection of equipment Its very busy and you wait for machines even at 830 @nite I belonged to another Golds so I could use this one when I was in Manhattan If I were to join a gym in Manhattan it would NOT be this one
Review for Gold's gym west 54th – thought about buying a one year but Robert the manager with the bad teeth and bad breath was rude and very unhelpful. waste of my time. I'd rather go elsewhere than help someone like him with his dental bills.
the worst gym in NYC – When you come in, they give you one rag, they call it towel. Don't ask for an other one, you will get attitude from the stuff. The equipment is very old and many cardio machines are broken and they don't even put sign that they are out of order. Bathroom stinks and it's dirty.
Great Gym – I've been working out for years, simply put. Gold's gym is the real deal. The price is great and has all the equipment you need.
Unethical and Dishonest – Unethical and untrustworthy. I visited the gym the last Monday in August to try it out. It was pretty warm inside and Abdul told me that the Air conditioning was being repaired but it was normally cool inside. I signed up for a year prepaid membership. Over the next month every time I went in the evening it was hot because they simply did not turn on the AC. I asked the staff to turn on the AC and they always did but it takes forever to cool down so it did me no good. I finally asked to cancel my membership because my doctor advised I find someplace cooler to work out. The doctor wrote a letter as the contract requested but the gym would not honor it. Robert is the manager and has no power to make any decisions. An earlier poster was correct--he was very sarcastic when I asked him why they did not run the AC. The owner's name is Gary Prince and I have not yet had a chance to find out why he would not follow the contract. Avoid this place. It may be cheap, but there is a reason.
GREAT GYM LOVE IT... – Me and my Boyfriend got a great deal. They have a 2 for 1 special where you can sign up for TWO YEARS or split it with someone..The manager took care of us Personally and it was pretty cool because I am a big COLLEGE basketball FAn and I had watched him PLAY when he was at the UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND...Great player but even Better he was very polite and gave us great service. I am looking forward to all the great classes they have to offer and the many YOGA classes..I am telling all my friends to join so if you are in the area stop in you will love it..
One of the Best in the City – I just recently joined Gold's Gym and I absolutely love the facility. I had the perception before visiting that Golds Gym was a gym geared towards meat heads and body builders, but I couldn't be any more wrong. I love the abundance of classes they provide (over 70!!). My favorite classes so far are the Body Combat classes and the Ballet Barre Class. I get a wonderful cardio work out while toning and leaning my muscles. Other classes I have enjoyed include, Spin, Yoga, Pilates and Coreology. They have tons of cardio, including step mills, and weight equipment as well. Even on a busy day I don't have to wait on or work into someone elses set to use a machine.
The staff was helpful and very knowledgable. I was helped by a gentleman named Robert and he was extremely accommodating and very personable; which is something I look for in customer service. He took good care of me and made me feel welcome, which I really appreciated.
I have done my research and this was by far my favorite. The have a beautiful locker room with a tan booth, steam room and towel service! I definately recommend this GYM!!!
Good as Gold's Gym – As a puny young man, I was often intimidated by the gym experience. Since I have aged I've become more confident with my body image, thus have begun the long slow journey towards my fitness goal of looking good naked. So far, I'm not quite there, but since discovering Gold's Gym Midtown through "Groupon" I can see a light at the end of the tunnel, and it feels great. I immediately felt confident the moment I walked through those doors. The staff does a phenomenal job of creating a heavenly atmosphere, with machine's clean enough to eat off of, and there are also seemingly millions to choose from. If I had a gun to my head and was asked what the greatest gym in the greater New York area without hesitation I would answer simply,
"Gold's Gym Midtown is good as GOLD."
THE ABSOLUTE BEST GYM IN THE CITY – OMG! I have lived in the city for 6 years and finally found a gym that's the perfect price and better equipped than most gyms i've been to. The members are so nice and the staff is AMAZING!! I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS GYM!! They have more yoga them most clubs and the other classes are awesome.
Gold's Gym at its finest! – The facility is gorgeous! They have a cafe in the front to get all your protein shakes/bars, they offer any class you could possibly imagine, and the employees are extremely friendly. If you're shopping for a gym, look no further. This is the best gym around, hands down.
