I ordered in Barneys an expensive dress, received only underlay of the dress with a tag. I called them multiple times, my emails got answered only after I explained my further actions unless communication will be improved, I had to take pictures of that underlay and send them , now they refuse to refund my credit card and offer only to issue a Barneys gift card. Honesty of the company can be checked only by their reaction to the problem. I never had similar problems with Saks or NM. Will never use Barneys again and will not recommend unless you need problems.

BAD costumer service – Everytime I am in NYC I will visit Barneys but on June 6th, the saleswoman in Barney at Prada treated me very badly. After I bought a Givenchy bag, I saw a Prada bag that I liked so I picked it up to show my mother. The saleswoman pointed her finger at me and yelled for me to put the bag down as if I was going to steal it. I was dressed appropriately and I don't know why she would treat a costumer that way.
WORST customer Service ever – The people who work in sales or customer service at Barney's are a fry cry from sophistication or aesthetic as you would expect...they look, act and dress like they came straight from the jersey shore... Yes...I would go back because like I said I do like the store and merchandise minus the sales associates ..maybe they can automate the whole process have self checkout monitors, search engines and we don't have to deal with them at all....
For the exorbitant prices salespeople should show some clas – Unfortunately,some,not all,but some of the salespeople have confused the quality and beauty and talent of the items there with themselves. Yes , a few actually make purchasing there a delightful experience,but some of the others,usually younger and more ignorant,make it stink big time. Get some class,and learn what NYC is! You are a salesperson not anything more in that situation.Also,many are just plain ugly.The more mature ones are elegant,often and truly attractive. Barneys is supposed to be cool not cruel!. Pretty awful to see a place with so much fab hire so much mean spirited, embarrassing to look at riff raff.I am certain that that is their sophomoric idea of "acting sophisticated in NYC!!!![lol]..No wonder it is so empty . Btw,there is a very meanspirited sales woman at the jewelry counter right off the pocketbook area. Either mean or mentally ill????

The intelligent fashionista! – Barneys always has such a great selection of women's fashions that pose interesting and intellectually/ artistically challenging questions (and answers). This may strike some as a drawback, but as a woman who lives in DC and thirsts for clothing that is not merely pretty but is interesting as well as gorgeous - Barneys is heaven for me.
Absolutely love cleansing oil from Shu Uemura. Also the manager at Shu store at Barneys is sooo sweet and helpful!!!
Mostly good all around.... – Always a good experience save for the shoe dept. where if they think you're taking too much time TO think about your possible purchase, they get bored and want to move on. With that, Shelby at the Goyard store is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, more so than the staff at the Paris store. Alex at Bobbi Brown is Mr. Personality Plus and always aims to please. And the Fredric Malle store is also very good - they'll let you take your time without being too pushy. Hope this helps.
Bring your wallet – Barney's has a wide ranging selection of high end fashion options.
I recently picked up two pairs of jeans there and my choices (while not cheap) were not of a limited variety.
Just be prepared to spend some money!
