Don't be 'Difficult' – When I first moved to NYC I ordered a custom made collar that was measured by the sales clerk in the store. When it came in it was too small and she tried to strangle my poor little dog by pulling it around her neck and saying 'see, it fits'! After finally getting them to agree to remake the collar the owner got on the phone and told the person on the other line that she was helping a 'difficult' customer. So don't be difficult and expect a custom made collar to fit your dog and you will love this place because it does look pretty. : )
I have mixed reviews – Nice dogs in the window, but the staff refused to buzz me in because I had my son with me. I went around the block to another store to buy what I needed
The pits is right – I could have written that review myself. The woman who owns the place will tell you anything to sell a dog and I was gullible enough to believe it as the place looks beautiful and it says AKC. The puppy I got had parasites and the vet report which I didn't read carefully (again, the address, the price, etc.) had a note that said "distended stomach, possibly parasites." When I took the dog home it stopped eating and drinking. When I called to ask for the store's vet's name, I was told the puppy was absolutely fine. When I called the store's vet, he immediately told me "he probably has a parasite." They took the puppy back to "cure" him and once again, two weeks later, parasites. Somehow the fax machine wasn't working to give me the dog's clean bill of health so I listened to the owner. She lied about the "world class" breeder, about the size the dog would be, about his health and she tried to sell me everything in the place. The dog is obviously a puppy mill dog, he is traumatized by virtually everyone and every place so he clearly didn't have such a happy puppyhood. My other purebred -- from a breeder -- is socialized, healthy and cost less than 20% of the price. Moral of the story: Buy from a reputable breeder; stay away from pet stores (even with fancy names) and stay far away from this place.
The pits! – I bought my dogs at this place...they were so sick they had to be in the hospital for weeks. Then I heard the horro stories...dogs are not treated well in the grooming facilities. One of my dogs is hand shy because someone there was very abusive......STAY AWAY from this place...The owner is a phony and a liar. She must not like animals.
Chichi salon, boutique and day care for pedigreed owners and their pets. – In Short
From the exterior, the shop appears to be just another fancy Upper East Side boutique, but this one is for the dogs. White pedestals decorate the regal space filled with specialty pet carriers (some of which top out at $900), dog clothing (a pink kimono rings in at around $200), and bedding (one version is faux chinchilla). At the salon, dogs are pampered with services such as hot oil treatment, nail clipping and teeth cleaning. Boarding is also available.
