Finally, Swiss style that doesn't leave you feeling neutral. – The Scene
Fashionistas were agog when this 150-year-old company's Spring/Summer 2001 collection jettisoned decades-old fustiness to unveil sleeker designs, geometric prints and shapes modern enough to seduce "Wallpaper" editors. The airy store now seems--dare we say it?--energetic, with pulsing dance music, candy-colored shoes and bags and salespeople who leap to shoppers' aide.
New creative director Scott Fellows has resurrected clean Swiss style with a Harvard Business School twist. Forget fashion as bizarre art; Fellows wants subtle, wearable pieces for high-end clients. So ignore the occasional oddball offering (a coat in complexion-draining colors, an off-the-mark briefcase), and head straight for the luxury handbags, luggage and shoes that make this brand worth buying.
