Service, Quality of Food Slipping – I've worked in this neighborhood for three years, and when I first joined my agency, I was looking for a decent deli, diner or sandwich shop in the area. I was thrilled when I found Sunberry. Fast forward three years, and I have to say, I am going to be looking for a new go-to place for lunch.
The food - when it's fresh - is pretty tasty. But the last several times I have eaten here over the last six months, the food I have gotten has ranged from bad (as in not fresh but sour, needs to be thrown away and never served) to frozen (yes, I actually received a salad that was frozen once). I used to love the fact that you can order online, but lately the service is terrible. Food shows up late, and sometimes not at all (apparently they have had issues with the system "losing orders.") My general experience when I call the restaurant is that the staff is pretty short with me and can't be bothered to find out why my order is an hour late or why my food is sour.
I am genuinely disappointed to say that Sunberry's quality had declined and I won't be ordering from here any more.
Good Breakfast. – Ordered breakfast pastries here for my work and they were so friggin' delicious!!! Mini muffins, mini turnovers... great great job! So fresh and so delicious!! And I must add, GREAT PRICES :D
Nice cafe in Midtown, good food – This is a great little cafe that sets itself apart from other mediocre ones around it. The food has always been good with a wide variety of ingredients, and I really like the bread they have. It's also very good for vegetarians and the people working there helped me make a good custom sandwich with their suggestions. The atmosphere is just alright; it's a little cafeteria feeling, but for the price, especially in Midtown, I'm fine with that. I would suggest sitting upstairs. It's a little quieter up there, which is especially good during weekdays during the day where businesspeople descend upon it like locusts.
Amazing Food!!! – Sunberrys has the most delicious food. It's made fresh every single day. Theres so many different foods you can choose from. The staff is great. One of the best cafes in NYC.
Great place for breakfast and lunch – Everything is fresh. I have been eating there everyday for the past 3 months. I have been testing them to see if they will mess up. So far so good. The service is great. (they treat everyone the same) I am a very picky eater with a bad appetite but I am always able to make room for their food. I love that they change the menu everyday. Also, the store is kept clean and in order. My boss had the clam chowder and he said it was the best he'd ever had. I just hope they keep up the great work.
Classy Cafe – I've been eating at Sunberry's Cafe on E. 60th St. for years, they serve the most delicious food everyday, but my favorite lunch is on Thursdays, it's like Thanksgiving Thursday every week: a complete turkey meal w/ your choice of either white or dark meat (or a combination of both) served w/ stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and a small salad on the side, all for under $10.00. And, the portions are BIG!!! The owner, the head chef, and all the workers behind the counter are so friendly too. They have plenty of seating upstairs on the 2nd floor. And also, they have the best espresso in NYC, no kidding!!! I LOVE it! I recommend Sunberry's Cafe very highly!
One of New York City's "Best Kept Secrets" – If there really is such a list of New York City's "Best Kept Secrets" then Sunberry’s Café has to be on it for sure.
It’s usually crowded, but the food there is well worth the wait. They serve the most amazing food in the area. The staff is always polite and friendly, they always greet you with a smile and a hello. They have a very loyal following of regular customers, many of whom eat there 5 days a week, it’s not a problem because their menu changes everyday.
- Food is fresh and exceptionally delicious.
- Price is inexpensive for the quality you’re getting.
- Service is above average.
- Décor is simple and there is more than enough seating upstairs.
I love Sunberry’s and I’ve recommended it to all my friends. I even take my “out of towner” friends there for lunch because their food is simply the best in the area and they’re one of NYC’s "Best Kept Secrets."
Love Them!!! – this place is great

food is great
it the perfect place to go on your way to work
for a quick bit to eat at lunch
coffee is good as well
they have no problem with credit cards

i have been to a few places in the same area, where the service just isn't so good
sunberry's makes you smile on your way to work, which is important
check it out
i love it!
Very bad – This place will mess up your order, deliver it late and give you an attitude if you complain about it. Trust me, just avoid them. I learned the hard way....twice!!
This so obviously a competitor; Sunberry's is our office favorite!!! While everyone is entitled to their own opinion; let's keep them honest and preserve the integrity of the site. Thanks
