Awful! Never Again! Don't be fooled! – So I went to Bb to get this so called "amazing cut and color". I guess it was one of those things where if everyone else is I should too. I should have known better. My hair is awful. The color is drab and lacks any shine and my cut was generic. I could have gotten better service at the $10 shop. The stylists are so focused on themselves that they dont pay attention to you. Not to mention I felt like a product on a conveyor belt waiting to be stamped and shipped. They had 4 different people working on me.After I saw my own hair I truly wanted to cry. I looked around and noticed the less then mediocre hair styles on other people being serviced and thought we are all a bunch of suckers. I will never step foot in that place again. I hope this helps in your decision. Don't be fooled or pressured like I was. Thank god hair grows.
UPTOWN BUTCHERED MULLET – STAY AWAY! I have never in my life been so disappointed by a haircut. This week, I was in as a hair model (which I have been numerous times before at other salons) for a "student" if you can even say that much. I asked for simple long layers, and came out with a 2008 version of the Rachel. Since then, I have had to go to another salon to have my hair FIXED! "It looks like he was chatting and lost focus of what he was doing" said my stylist at Cutler who pointed out huge CHUNKS of hair missing from my head. My point: This is not only a style I didn't ask for, nor did I like, but it was just a poorly done cut, period. But I feel like I can't place all of the blame on my "stylists" lap, because the trainer was clearly not checking in enough to make sure he hadn't gotten carried away with the razor. Every other time I've been a model, the trainer comes over at every step to check on what is happening, ensuring that it is difficult to "lose control". In conclusion, I will never be going back to a Bumble & Bumble salon, nor will I refer my many friends. In fact, I will warn them of Bumble&bumble. I was excited to go there, as I've heard so much about it, and have never cried so much over something so superficial. ALSO, Just read ones below this, and I left the UPTOWN location with long hair BUTCHERED by a razor into a MULLET. Is that all they know how to do?
Stay Away From Bumble & Bumble-- ESPECIALLY AURA!! – Bumble and Bumble is solely living on its name of products--not on the
quality of its services. I had an appointment for full highlights for
which I had to leave work 2 hours early to commute there. When I
arrived, she proceeded to tell me that she didn't have enough time for
me even though I had booked the correct appointment. When I returned
for my appointment which was rescheduled for the next day (I had been
switched to 3 different colorists at that time), I ended up with a hair
color that is absolutely nothing like what I asked for. Aura completely
ignored the photo I brought in. And to make it worse, when I asked Aura
(the colorist) to fix it a little because it wasn't what I expected or
asked for, she gave me nothing but attitude. When they were rinsing my
hair, I could even hear them talking about me and how I was one of those
customers that is impossible to please. I'm not impossible to
please---but don't give me dark brown hair when I ask for golden
highlights! (It was supposed to look like Jennifer Aniston and now looks
I went to Bumble & Bumble because they are supposed to have a reliable
reputation and give you a good service, and I have not seen any of those
things from them.
two words: mullet and tears – i have never written a public review before...until now...i love hair so i very frequently go to salons...but hands down uptown bumble and bumble is the worst cut i have ever had...like the other one star reviews, the bumble and bumble razor will give you a mullet...(literally)...the stylist was sweet but that doesnt excuse the lack of attention put into my hair...i specifically told them i wanted to keep the length and just wanted a trim...i had been growing my short hair for the past year, and now i am left with a shoulder length mullet...when put in a ponytail, it looks like a ponytail of a 1 year old baby...this is not me whining about the sides being uneven...it is the first time i cried at a salon...my hair is butchered with 1 inch pieces everywhere on the top and sides of my head...as soon as i got home, i ordered a 300 dollar human hair extensions set to try to deal with the problem...i originally have super thick hair...and now i am left with a feathery mullet...and a trashcan full of teary tissues...
Best color of my life! – I've been meaning to write this months ago and that is how long i have loved my color! My natural color is a dark blonde and i wanted bright hilites but not chunky. Victoria 'painted' me and by watching her, i thought the outcome wouldn't be what i wanted... it was AMAZING! so natural that i couldnt believe myself in the mirror. She is the top colorist and expensive but SO worth it. I just went back in for a 2nd time to see Victoria to get my roots done and could not be happier! Although, I did miss her assistant Matt.... he made my 1st experience so much fun!!!!
Dante gets it done! – No one has a given me as great a cut and styled my hair as lovely. I have thick and wavy hair and find that a lot of stylists think they can get away with just hacking away at my head and can pull it off as "hip" or modern. But Dante took great care in giving me the best cut for my head of hair and really made it feel healthy and great, using minimal product. This new spot is gorgeous, too. Wonderful views while I was getting my cut. I highly recommend him and after just recently getting a cheap cut from a local salon am kicking myself for not shelling out the extra 60 bucks (it was $120 total) to get get quality care for my locks.
the Best hair salon! love Bumble&Bumble! – I love bumble and bumble (downtown salon) so much. I have long hair and have been their client for 3 years. Mai does color and TOM does my hair cut. I think MAI was born to be a colorist and Tom was born to be hair stylist. They are the best of the best!! they both are very professional and so easy to talk to!
the salon has pretty decent water view which is relaxing. their staffs are very kind and friendly. The cafe has decent coffee and tea. their cookies are sooooo good!! :) :) oh, and I love using BB products that I get from the salon.
MULLET 2!!! – I should have read the reviews before I went so please BEWARE of the UPTOWN location. When I left the salon, it looked okay. It wasn't until the next day, that I had washed it and fixed it myself that it ended up being horrendous. I read a review named MULLET and I have to agree with everything. Except for the fact that I did leave the house and went to another salon that charges less than $50 to get her to trim it up and somewhat fix it. I do have to wear my hair in bobby pins and in a ponytail, but it is still a disaster. I went to LISA and she asked me exactly what I wanted and what my morning routine was. Needless to say, I got something of the complete opposite. The other salon that I went to told me that the person that cut my hair was an idiot and she cut in a way that normal people would not be able to style their hair. I will never go back. Just so you know, I walked in with beautiful, healthy, long hair with long layers and walked out with a Mullet and $180 less than when I went in. My hair WAS COMPLETELY BUTCHERED WITH A RAZOR.
Best Haircut I have ever had – I just got back from my first cut and color at Bumble and Bumble (Uptown) and I couldn't be happier. Jodie did my color...and Stevie did my hair. I was disheartened because of the review I read about Stevie. I have long thick VERY curly hair (that I always straighten) and I think it is safe to say that this is the best haircut I have ever had. She did exactly what I had asked her to...and more (and was good about telling me what she was doing). My hair is still long, thick, and the layers are perfect and blended. I can't wait to go back again (they will trim your bangs for free!). Jodie was fabulous too. Totally worth it.
Beware – Do not go to William--especially if you have long hair.
Too make along story short, my hair was long and slighly layered, it is now above my shoulders to fix his mistake. I was ignored. The photo I brought in was ignored. William was rude and had too much attitude.
