what happened to the good pizza???...and the service? – This place used to serve one of the best pizza I had in NYC...unfortunately not anymore! I don't know what happened, if the management changed or what, but their pizza is barely average. The menu now includes regular pizza and brick oven pizza (before they only had brick oven). I went last about a week ago and I decided that I am not going back. We specifically ordered (and payed!) two individual-size brick-oven pizza, but we soon got suspicious when we realized that the brick oven was not on. Eventually, we were served two electric-oven pizza! Not to mention the prosciutto and the ham on them...very bad quality! Besides the quality of the food, the service was generally bad as well. We waited a very long time (even if the place was basically empty) because of take-out orders. One of pizza we ordered, named "Piegata" in the menu, which is the Italian for folded, was supposed to be a calzone but came open as a pizza. When we pointed that to the waitress, she said that it was our responsibility because we had not specifically asked to have it folded...never again!
Best pizza in Manhattan – The pizza is great, you don't even have to have toppings on it. Even after moving out of the West Side, I still come back to get their pizza. It's awesome
delicioso – THeir pizza is delicious! I have never had a bad slice. The sicilian is particularly delightful.
It is no longer cash only- they now accept credit cards.
No frills- just great pizza! – I first came to Vinnie's in 1984 while visiting relatives and I've never forgotten it! It is a must visit on every trip to the city now. Pizza like it should be- no frills, just great flavor. Everything else is a "pizza-like" substitute. Unbeatable value, unbeatable pizza!
good stuff – A great Upper West side local pizzeria. Pizzas are usually made by Vinnie himself. Delivery is a bit slow (1/2 hour for 2 blocks) and it's a cash only place, but the pizza makes it all worth it.
That'sa Nice Pizza – The best of the West. Vinnie's has been around for almost 30 years and the pizza is delicious. Vinnie is still around, but soon Louie runs the day-to-day. Like father, like son!
Yummy Sauce, Cheese and Crust – I have been coming to Vinnie's for over 10 years. It's definitely the best pizza in NYC. The cheese can't be beat. They make a yummy sauce. I especailly like that it's not too salty or greasy like other pizza places around town.
