Stop wandering blindly through Macy's lingerie dept – I spent my 20s and 30s selecting my own bras by wandering and plodding up and down the lingerie aisles at Macy's.
And then in my mid 30s, thank heavens, a friend sent me to the Town Shop where all I had to do was stand in the dressing room and a sales assistant brought me bra after bra until we had found the perfect fit.
yes, I was wearing the wrong size, cut, style all those years. and yes, what a DIFFERENCE it makes to wear a bra that is so well suited for me.
and what a beautiful thing it is to have a sales assistant who knows their products so well.
I will never torture myself again with aimless wandering in department store lingerie aisles.
What a winner! – I have always had a hard time finding bras and let me tell you! I found my heaven! I was able to find the right bras, in the right sizes and I didn't even have to look for them because the service was incredible! The sales person was so helpful and was able to find me a sexy bra that gives the right amount of support! Every time I need to get a bra, you bet I'll be going there!
Thanks Town Shop!
Wonderful, wonderful place – I was having lunch with friends today and they were talking about the great lingerie shop right down the street. I had intended to get in the car and drive back to NJ to buy some new underwear, which I had not mentioned to them, so I took it as a sign! I couldn't be happier. Katia took me under her wing, determined the correct size with one look, brought me an incredible selection, and helped me happily replace my dingy, saggy lingerie. It is not inexpensive, but the value is justified. I'm glad I went there. They are professional fitters and lingerie specialists who know what they are doing.
Terrible service – I was looking for a bathing suit to fit larger breasts and I thought I might be able to find a good, high quality bathing suit here. I asked for help finding a bathing suit and a saleswoman told me to find one myself. They were so rude and made me feel entirely unwelcome in the store. Terrible experience!
Hallelujah! Bras that fit & Fabulous Service – I had heard about the "Town Shop" from a few TV shows and decided to give it a try. I usually HATE bra shopping because most stores don't have competent staff or much selection.
I went on a weekday around 4pm & had only 1 person in front of me in the waiting line. I was in a fitting room being warmly greeted within 10 minutes. Denise asked specific questions about what I did & didn't want in a bra, she was detailed & welcoming. I felt very comfortable talking with her about all the gory details... She took one glance at me (it felt like I was in front of my sister - no judgement) & got the correct size the 1st try! It turns out I am now a 34DD... It is usually VERY difficult finding quality bras in sizes "D" and above. I certainly don't want to be in a "grandma" bra. Well, here the variety is INCREDIBLE!! Including VaVaVoom styles. JACKPOT !
Denise brought me a steady flow of bras to try. I was amazed at the # of different styles to try in DD! The prices ranged from $38 - 54 per bra (very reasonable in my opinion), with a couple styles $120 ea. I left with 7 bras - all SUPER comfortable; 4 daywear & 3 adventurous styles.
Denise was a fabulous sales attendant! She didn't steer me to expensive styles, was patient & fun. The customer service is Excellent!
The fitting rooms are OK size with a curtain which I think is more than enough coverage, besides everyone is focusing on their own stuff, no one is "peeking" at anyone else.
Negatives: I think they should have more fitting rooms! I did get a bit cold towards the end sitting with only a bra on top, while waiting. It wasn't very bothersome, but that's the only "negative" that I can think of.
I highly recommend the Town Shop for every woman! Enjoy!
I have gone back for my favorite bra styles – After having a bra fitting several years ago, at a highly recommended East Side establishment, I needed refitting due to a recent eight pound weight gain that appeared to have settled all above my waist. I went to the Bra Smyth shop but was referred to Town Shop because they were out of my size for the colors and styles I desired. I was pleasantly surprized and delighted with the staff's professionalism, their selection and customer service. I did not find the staff judgemental or in anyway rude or discourteous. I definately will return to them when I need more bras and undergarments.
Great Service – Yesterday I went on my first shopping ?spree? at The Town Shop. My boyfriend had given me a gift card (and not so subtly hinted that it was time to get new bras!) I was a little nervous as I?d never before had a professional fitting, and I have to say I felt very comfortable with the young saleswoman who helped me. She was so helpful and patient ? and I wish I could remember her name so I could properly credit her. I?m not accustomed to receiving such quality service when I shop, and I really appreciated it. I ended up getting three bras and some knee hi stockings, and depending on which ones fit best, I will go back in the near future for ?duplicates.?
The PERFECT Bras!!! – i wear a larger size bra, and have never been able to find what i need. after doing some research, i decided to try town shop. i was helped by a very sweet woman named Bella (i was told she only works on Sunday). She took me to a dressing room and had me take off my shirt, she explained she had to see me in my bra to get an idea of the size. Then she brought me a bra, just to get an idea of the size. It was perfect. She continued to bring me ones to try on. i ended up buying 3 of them (including the 1st one). All the other places i've been try to tell me i'm a 36 or a 38, Bella knew i was a 34 and it was my cup size that had to be larger. i would recomend this place to EVERYONE!!!!
ATROCIOUS Customer Service – Be prepared when you get fitted, the first question they will ask you is,"Well, are you gonna buy a bra?" in an unbelievably rude manner. This is before they fit you, before they do anything, they want to know they are getting your money. But how can one answer this question until a bra fits. So I responded,"I wanted to make sure my size was right and try some on." She said ok and left for 5 minutes. Another lady came in and very impatiently said,"Ok, this is how it is. We can't just fit you and give you bras. You need to tell me EXACTLY what you want. We have a long line with women who know what bras they want and are going to buy. So you have to tell me EXACTLY what you want." So I said forget it. I believe they are perhaps age prejudice. I am 20 and for some reason they didn't want to deal with me and seemed to think I had no intention of buying bras. SO YOUNGER WOMEN, STAY AWAY! They will not give you any of their time or respect. I was treated like dirt!
Great weekday service! – After seeing a segment on TV about the Town Shop and its fabulous lingerie, I decided to do a little research and read the reviews available to me online. To my surprise, the reviews were not making me feel like it would be worth the trip from Brooklyn into the city. Feeling overwhelmed by the amount of bras available in the major department stores, I decided to try the Town Shop for myself anyway. My daughter and I went on a Monday afternoon in July and I was attended to as soon as we walked in the door. The saleswoman asked what size bra I wore and to remove my shirt and then later my bra. (My 18 year old daughter said she would feel uncomfortable taking her bra off.) Upon examining my bra, she told me I should be wearing a smaller size. Other reviews mentioned how they were pulled and tugged and didn't like having to remove their shirts or bras. Hello.... if your shopping for a bra and want a professional opinion and fitting you can't be shy. I told this to my own daughter! This is why you come to this store. The dressing rooms were clean and enough to get changed in and have a salesperson check on you. The curtains on each room were heavy and I did not feel like there should be doors. My privacy was not compromised in any way. The selections were great and of better quality. Price range was moderate to expensive. Competively priced for their merchandise. This is definitely not a discount store! The saleswoman was very patient and tended to my needs with professional attention. You must also remember that the saleswomen are not magicians, they can only show us what the manufactures are offering. My experience was a totally positive one and I would definitely return! I will never look like I did at twenty, but I left the store wearing one of the two bras I purchased feeling great at 48!
