never again – I've been to this place before and never had any problems. However, when we went to Da Rosina last night, it was a major disappointment. We asked the waiter not to add the cheese to the dish and he refused by saying they don't change or substitute anything. What's on the menu is what they would serve. He was rude and was not willing to listen to anything we said. We finally agreed on one dish, but they mixed up the order, bringing breaded chicken that tasted horrible.

In the area that is filled with so many restaurants, please go somewhere else.

MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT – We had reservations for 6 for last evening before a show. Reservations were made 2 weeks ago and confirmed the day before. We were all excited to try Da Rosina based on some reviews. We showed up at the restaurant 15 mins before only to find out that they had filled all the tables. The worse part is that no one cared because they were making their money on walk-ins.

The manager/owner was extremely rude and didn't want to even talk to us because he was "too busy".

This was a horrible place to leave a group of 6 who now had to scramble to find a place to eat before a Saturday evening show.

It turns out that we were not alone as the group that walked up behind us was in the same predicament!!!

Don't waste your time!!

Midtown Secret – Hidden in the heart of the theater district this cozy little Italian place is always packed no matter when I went. The service was prompt and professional. The prices were fairly reasonable and the Vodka sauce is worth dying for!!!!!! Make sure you make reservations and go early to find parking.

Great experience - well kept secret in mid-town – A group of ten looking for a last minute reservation on a Saturday night in Manhattan is not likely to find very much - if anything at all. Enter Da Rosina. Upon recommendation from family members, I called up and was able to get a reservation immediately. Our table was ready upon arrival, and wait staff was very friendly & accomodating. The price fixe ($24) dinner was a teriffic offer as they allow you your choice of appetizer, dinner and dessert from the a la carte menu. Food was fresh and flavorful, everyone in our group enjoyed their meals from start to finish. If you're looking for traditional Italian fare with a few surprises thrown in, consider this mid-town eatery.

Excellent food at an excellent price! – What a pleasant experience. My wife were in NY to see a Saturday matinee of Les Miserables. After checking out a couple places we decided to go to Da Rosina for lunch before the show. The menu looked good and the price was nice, $16.00 for the prix fix lunch. We were greeted pleasantly and seated right away. We ordered and were promptly given our drinks and appetizers along with a warm loaf of sliced bread. I had the Polenta alla Bolognese and my wife had a ceasar salad. Both delicious. Then our entrees came. My wife had the chicken parmigiana and I had the Pollo alla Siciliana. My chicken was perfectly cooked and the flavors were amazing. I loved it. My wife said the same with hers. Dessert had similar results. My Tiramisu was excellent and her Spuma di Cioccolata was surprisingly rich and flavorful. I highly recommend Da Rosina and we will return the next time we are in the city.

NEVER AGAIN!!! – Well the food was mediocre, but that doesn't compare to the disgusting service and dishonest staff of this restaurant. We had gone on a Friday night after a show, where two friends and myself were the only people there. We ordered the prix-fixe meal which was okay. However we were unable to finish our wine when the music was shut off and obvious signs of us being rushed out of the restaurant. Unfortunately I had left my cellphone on the table when we left and I had realized it was gone which was about 5 minutes later we had called the restaurant and there was no answer, but I left a message stating the situation with my phone, and continued to call repeatedly and left a message again. Left my phone number if they could so that I could come in and pick up my phone. I then called the restaurant back in the morning and asked to speak to the manager, and told him about the situation. He stated that he asked the busboy if he had seen the phone and he stated he hadn't! Lie! Then I call and discover that my phone had been used minutes after I had left and outrageous ringer purchases were made. The refuse to take any responsibility! I could never go back to that establishment, nor do I recommend you do either...and my dessert was burnt!!!

Would Not Recommend – I was very underwhelmed with my experience at Da Rosina. I had the calamari as my appetizer, gnocchi for my main course, and the tiramasu for dessert. The calamari looked like it came straight from Applebees. The gnocchi was served with a sauce that looked like it came out of a Ragu Jar. The Tiramasu was soggy and looked like it had been sitting out all day.

Plus tables are stacked on each other, the wait staff is overworked, and the decor is generic so the entire experience felt rushed and impersonal.

If your looking for a good casual place to eat before a show try the French Restaurant Pergola Des Artistes down the block.

Midtown Favorite – This little place is amazing - the price fix is from the whole menu, the food is tasty, the service is fast and for all of this - the price is incredible. Whenever seeing a broadway show, we return to Da Rosina because i'm tired of paying too much for dissapointing food. Da Rosina is a breath of fresh air in midtown and a place worth visiting for anyone seeking good food.
