I went to this K-Mart store with a friend who needed an article of clothing. I thought I might as well as look for a pair of shoes while there. I wear a size 7 1/2 wide. Very hard to find shoes. So I had to spend about thirty minutes to find a pair of shoes to fit. Finally I found a pair that were priced on the shelf for $14.99. There was also a Paper next to that price that stated if I bought one pair, I could get 1/2 half off on a second pair. $22.50 sounded like a good deal to me, especially when it is hard for me to find shoes that fit. I took them to the register and the Cashier started the paperwork. Looking at the register the total came to more than $60.00. I told him that the price on the shelf was $14.99 and half off on the second pair. He called the section where the shoes were and they told him that there had been a sale on the shoes but it had expired. The price when I looked at it, did not have an expiration date that I could see. Even if it had expired the day before, that price was still $14.99 on the item the next day at 1:30 pm when I tried to buy them. There was no price stating that two pair of the Catalina shoes was going to run over $60.00. Nowhere at all. The manager said she would give me the shoes at $14.99 each pair. I said no that is not what you have advertised back there. She said that was the cost. I said that was false advertising and told her she could keep them. Her tag said “Manager” and underneath was a name starting with a K. The Cashier and service people were pleasant and helpful. The manager I found to be unpleasant. I do not recommend that anyone having a problem with false advertising go to that store. A lot of customers are embarrassed when they get to a register and find out the price is different than what they thought. So they buy it at the corrected Price? instead of the listed price. A persons word is their bond. I make an agreement, I stick to it or it is on me! You list a price for an item, you stick to it or it is on you! I will not be recommending this K-mart to anyone. I will shop others that might be in the area, but not this one. Date and time was approximately 1:30 pm on April 27, 2013. Daniel
