Authentic Bartending School – I enjoyed my time bartending school. The school was very informational and a lot of the recipes people enjoy and it definetly puts a step above the average bartendar. With what I learned at ABS I enjoy that prefer me to make their drink versus other bartendars. I made some new friends while at school, which made the whole expeirence enjoyable. I definetly recommend ABS versus other schools because through me the have produced one of the best mixologist in the city!

If I could do it again, I would do it without any hesitation.

The staff is great as well! Because of ABS I will be a bartendar for life!

Great Bartending Education – I just graduated from this school and got my license. I would recommend this school to anyone I know who is interested in going to bartending school. In, fact I already have. I had a great time while I was there. My instructor Leslie, was very much interested in making sure I learned all the lessons and made the learning environment comfortable. She gave me great tips on going into interviews and I truly enjoyed being in her classes.

I just received my license on Sunday. I was really stressed about the thought of job hunting but the school has been so very helpful. Their site provided many leads and everyone is so helpful and you can tell they want you to find great employment. OH! One last thing they were so affordable and worked with you with your payments. Such a relief!!

STAY AWAY!!! – I gave it one star because I can't give it zero! This company is one of the worst I have come across in a long time. It is all a lie from the get go. You get NOTHING that they promise. The course is awful, the book is all hand written photo copies that you have to re-write yourself because all the recipes are wrong and outdated. Hardly any of what they teach you actually need. They said you get to work in a small class with an expert instructor; this is the biggest lie of it all. Our instructor would start class at 7 by telling us to copy down her notes while she ate dinner in her office and interviewed other prospective students, she then came in around 7:45 to make sure everyone was making drinks and then left almost immediately. She would come back in at 8 to tell everyone to clean up and dismiss the class shortly thereafter. She was no help at all and she recommends that you do your studying on note cards at home so she doesn't have to work. When you go on an interview and tell them you’re with authentic bartending, you get laughed at! It happened to me and three other classmates. When I became dissatisfied with the quality of the class (after all you do pay almost $500 for nothing at all) I called and requested a refund. They said no problem, just put it in writing and we will take care of it for you, they have been dodging my calls for 3 MONTHS!!! There are so many bartending schools out there for cheaper, do yourself a favor and stay far far away from this place. I can’t say that all the schools are awful, but the ownership of the entire company is rude, incompetent, and extremely lazy. This must say something about the staff they employ!

They Make It Happen! – When my girl graduated from here and they placed her at Sugarhouse, I knew it was time to get out the 'hood bar and get my license.

Like people said, it ain't easy but it ain't like rocket science. It's only drinks.

The teachers actually push you to work your best and make you fast.

Leah in job placement help me straighten out my resume and I got 3 interviews in the first week of getting my license.

Fo real? This was probably one a best decisions I made. EVER!

Viva Authentic – When I decided to learn to bartend, a 'bartender' friend told be not to bother with bartending school and just learn on the job. Then I asked her how to make a cosmo, and she didn't know. lol. And I found out after applying to bar after bar it was impossible to get a job without training or experience or knowing someone.

So I then started researching schools. The 1st thing I looked at is reviews, but not only reviews... also the REVIEWERS. One hit attacks, with no face or name or other reviews I discounted.

I decided then to check out all the schools. The 1st place I went to, the owner was nice but just talked about herself and she worked at some divey bar.

The 2nd place wouldn't even give me a price over the phone, then when I got there I figured out why. They wanted about $600 to train me half way, but like $1000 if the wanted to train me for everything I needed. Plus they tried to pressure me and talked bad about every other school which turned me off.

When I went to authentic the 1st thing I noticed is that they seemed a lot more professional then the other places. Plus the price was more than reasonable so I signed up.

As far as the course goes, the instructors were really helpful. To be honest, It was a little more challenging then I thought it would be, but they let me know if I expected to work in the the kind of upscale places they helped to place us, then I needed to know everything from wines to liquors, etc.. So it took some studying but at least when I was done I really knew my stuff.

My favorite part was that we got to work at actual bars during training which then gave us the EXPERIENCE.

Classroom is great, but nothing takes the place of really being put on the spot.

After I graduated I already had something for my resume which helped get my 1st job,

As far as job placement, the job placement people were helpful, but understandably busy. I was hoping to find work right away but it took like 3 weeks of interviews to actually find something right for me.

In any case it was inexpensive, fun and I definitely think it was worth it.

The people leaving bad reviews, I really don't get. But there were a few lazy people who expected to breeze through and have everything done for them. What can you do. Haters gonna hate! lol.

It takes work to succeed people!

Wow this place is under attack!! – I doubt the school even realizes these reviews are here. I am a real person you may contact me at any time at and i will vouch for this establishment. I am not saying it was the perfect experience but the reviews below are just viscous and are designed to attack this company. Send me a message and I will send you my contact info if you want to speak to a real person for a real review.

I shopped around to all the schools in the philadelphia area. Did my research and chose Authentic over the rest for 2 reasons.

1. Price.. Tough times in economy so I am watching every dollar any more.

2. Their REAL reputation in the hospitality industry.. Yes their job placement sounded to good to be true.. So instead of taking their word or any else opinion everything they told me I investigated. When I went to check out the school they told me some places where they placed their student. "SO I CALLED THE ESTABLISHMENTS" to verify on my own... Easy enough it only took a few calls and knew this was legit enough for me, based on what "I SEEN"

The only thing I could say negative would be: I wish the had more training courses.. I wish I could of learn things like Point of Sale Softwares. (Registers/Computers in the bar) The do go over the basics but its alot to learn in a short period.

Serious, look at the reviews and what they are saying very malicious attacks... Def looks like to me another bartending school attacking them. "CSMobileUser6" looks like someone who gets paid to write reviews which is becoming a common on sites like fiverr. ect... Very cheap tactics. If you look at his reviews, he has over 500 reviews from every city and state in the country.

I actually called Authentic while in middle of this review to tell them about these reviews. The said they are aware and have contacted lawyers and investigating for slander. Whats there to investigate LOL!!

Seriously though... If you need a real review and want to talk to a real person MESSAGE ME!! I will send you my contact info.

A waste of Money – This is a horrible school.

Let me first begin by say, they hound you when you ask for information on the phone about the school. Once you pay your money to the school they become ignorant to every little lie they tell you before you pay your money.

Once your money is paid they don't return calls. They don't help you find a job. All they do is move on to the next victim.

They offer you an "OPPORTUNITY" to work for FREE (literally) at Copabanana, and the Reef. Oops, the Reef does allow you to keep your tips after the REAL bartender take half of the tips and the rest of you (5) have to spit the remaining tips.. So basically by the time you work a 8-10 hour shift you walk away with $8.00 in your pocket if your lucky!!

After going to this school I learned not to tell the workers where your putting in applications because they tell others that the facility is hiring so that you can have twice as much competition.

Look I suggest you run for the border, don't look back.. And invest your money elsewhere cause this place isn't it..

Also just because you see a BBB (Better Business Bureau) stamp, i doesn't mean anything...

Please do more research.... These jobs aren't hiring nobody from this school...Your better off not adding them to your resume.

Do not go here. If you suddenly change your mind, they will rip you off and take your money. I lost $400 to them. It is not worth it. Go to community college instead. At least that way you could actually make something of your life rather than blowing your money.
