The front desk staff at Yonkers Animal Hospital is so friendly and helpful! They always answer the phones with a warm greeting and usually can accommodate my schedule when I call in to make an appointment. I love this place! The doctors are great!
I had to put my precious cat down two months ago. Sadie-Mae was 17 years old and had been a patient of Yonkers Animal Hospital for 12 years. Sadie had congestive heart failure with fluid in her chest and week after week for months, she would have to have the fluid removed. The doctors kept the prices low and kept Sadie comfortable for her remaining time.
I have to male pit bulls that are slightly appressive because they guard my auto shop in the Bronx. I was afraid that they wouldn't be able to handle them because of the aggression issues, but the staff put me in a private room that had its own side door enterance and was swiftly able to maintain control. My two boys were treated kindly and they were given their shots with ease. The doctors and technicians are well versed in handling difficult and aggressive animals. I will be back!
I am new to the area and was recommended to come here by my new neighbor. She said the prices were reasonable and she was right! She got shots and an exam and they treated her like a princess. As the staff walked through the room each one would smile and say hi to both Fifi and myself!
The office staff is terrific. The office is always packed and the receptionsits are still able to give attention to both the clients in the office and over the phone.
I brought my dog, Porkchop, in for a groom last week and the results were tremendous. My dog's hair was matted and the groomer was able to make him look like a show dog. He shaved the matts off and left Porkchop smelling fresh and clean. The office staff was also very friendly and knowledgable.
The doctors at Yonkers Animal Hospital are amazing. My cat, Zippy ate chicken bones and the doctors immediately took action when I brought him in. He was only two months old at that time and they had to perform surgery. They saved his life and now he is living happy and healthy.
We moved here from the Bay Area two years ago with an elderly grumpy rescue cat. They were very caring and did get her history from our old vet so not too many tests. So when we moved with Winifred the Cardigan Welsh Corgi rescue I naturally needed a new vet in a new city and I found Yonkers Animal Hospital. They have been so wonderful with her. I can't say enough about their empathy for the animals (not so much my wallet, but they did work with me after her recent surgery) These aren't just beasts, they are members of our families so I have to say it's worth the money when they are so dedicated to the care of your furkid. I recommend and trust them totally.
We started going to Dr. Howell when he first opened. Three cockers and two German Sheppards later, we are still with him. The latest cocker we rescued from a local helter and he had, among other things, one of the most raveging ear infections ever encountered. Both ears literally stunk and were full of fluids. We never winced on keeping the dog because we had such great trust in Dr. Howell. For those that know dog breeds and diseases, our new cocker had Pseudomonas Aeruginosa which is a terribly difficult ear infection to treat and cure. The bacteria changes all the time and it is persistent. Dr. Howell did extensive reading, research, and outreach to other ear professionals and he personally devised several different treatments of ear drops and anti-biotics. After a few weeks, we began to see progress and we are finally on top of the problem. It is such a relief to be able to rescue a dog and bring it back to full health.
Doc Howell is amazing, only met him once regarding my Boston's vomiting episode after some tests and blood work he kindly called and left detailed message! I was also able to call him and talk to him over the phone without being rushed. He was patient and attentive to my needs and to my Boston's terrier! The staff is all amazing and professional! Thankyou!
