I also have enjoyed a long relationship with Bruce and the good folks at Silver City. I have purchased many appliances from them and will continue to in the future. I have never had a problem with the delivery people. They are professional and curtious. Its a shame that someone would try to slander such a good business. They built their business by doing the right thing for their customers, never selling them more than they need, never taking advantage and always being fair. They also stand behind what they sell. See Bruce when you need to buy any appliances for your home and I'm sure you will see what I am saying is true!
These reviews sound concocted- What a coincidence that 3 of them were all done in the same time frame. Sounds like a personal attack to me- not a review of a store. Shame on this site for letting any lunatic slander another person without repercussion. Good thing these are traceable- I'm sure they are from the same IP address.
Now on to the review-
Excellant service- the salesmen are knowledgeable and friendly. If you need real info about a product go to Silver City- They ARE professionals!
If you want a salesman to read the tag a throw out a price and charge you for delivery go to Sears or PC Richards.
Very shady business practices. Purchased a refrigerator from an overweight salesman wearing sweat pants that were constantly being pulled up. The silver city delivery truck ran over my lawn, damaged the walk way and to add insult to injury the delivery driver dropped the stainless refrigerator off his dolly while installing it. The front door was damaged pretty severely and when the driver was asked about how the damaged door would be handled, he looked up at me and said " it's your refrigerator not mine"! Incredible! Contacted the store and spoke to someone who claimed to be the manager and he basically told me the same thing! STAY AWAY! Store is very unkempt and dirty just like thenpeoplemwho work there.
Scary experience! – We stopped in at this little dumpy store that is full of hispanic day laborers hanging out which made my wife and I nervous. Little did we know that was the easy part! Once inside there was a couple of salesman sitting around at their desks and seemed to be busy on their cell phones and computers. We looked around and after several minutes we were accosted by a very smelly, sweating, nervous and panting salesman who talked very fast and really did not seem to want to answer our questions.. He seemed more interested in talking about his miserable life than listening to what our desires were and our attempts at eliciting a two way conversation were futile. We were back on the left side of the store by the refrigerators and he had us cornered by the glass storefront with his large body. We literally had to ask him to move down the aisle in order to get by him. He seemed desperate to make a sale but did not seem to know how to handle a potential purchaser in an appropriate way. I believe it might be the same salesman as mentioned in the below post as the name rings a bell. We felt like we had been kidnapped and were held hostage with the salesman rambling on about his adopted kids, photography, his lousy marriage and, increduously, how much his job sucked and what a terrible place Silver City was to work for. He went into detail about how the current people inherited the business and didn't know anything about running the business and how his commissions were lousy and how he wished for the good old days when the father or whomever it was that owned it before could of lived forever. REALLY? We came in for a microwave and ended up so stressed out that we somehow managed to get out of there and escape. We went home and had to unwind for the weekend after spending time in that looney bin! Stay away unless you are a psychiatrist and you need a project!
STAY AWAY - HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE ONCE YOU SPEND $$ – Stay away!!! There is a good reason why this business gets a "D" grade from the Better Business Bureau. They were like dogs on a bone when I went in looking for appliances for a new kitchen. They even called me at home several times to come back in. We spent well over $6000 for 3 high end appliances (and bought the 5 year warranty)...7 months later, 2 of the appliances broke (main pieces totally fell off). I called the store, they provided little help and were rude. They gave me a service # for one appliance (when I called this #, they said they couldn't help me either and didn't have any # that I could call to get the refrigerator that was under warrenty repaired...UGH!!!!) and told me to look up the phone # for the other appliance. I then asked him what type of information I would need to give the the manufacturer to prove that I bought the items from Silver City and he didn't know. Couldn't help. I told him I was disappointed in the assistance I was getting and he was was unapologetic. He gave me a quick and insincere "Thanks for calling" and hung up. I deeply regret buying from them. I have several properties and have had great customer service from Sears and PC Richards. I understand that they don't personally provide service to the products they sell, but they definitely could have been more helpful in giving me the information I needed. I thought I would try to help a local business and should have researched it more. My bad...never again.
