AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE – Worst service ever, owner's hang around all day long fraternizing selective clientele while they neglect the operations of the place which is a testament to their horrible business sense (also the reason why their other cafe, Park Cafe, literally across the street from this place, had to be shut down - but hey, at least they recycled the crappy furniture from the other place, kudos for going Green and thinking about the environmental impacts of just having simply thrown away the filthy furniture, now rather, we get to sit on it and eat off of it, go you.
I've sat at every cafe up and down 30th and Broadway in Astoria, and this takes the ticket as being the worst of 30th, a very dubious honor indeed.
To add insult to injury and compound the horrible wait staff, their prices are ridiculously over-priced by anyone's standards, the bathroom cannot be used, and there are insects crawling through every crevice and orifice of the place - hint, the kitchen is located in the basement of this place so you can just imagine how fantastic the food is...don't kid yourselves, you'd be safer eating McDonald's left-over's than the "fresh" food from this place.
If you still rather venture and explore for yourselves, just remember this review and how accurate it was after you experience the sub-standard everything that occurs there.
Great Cocktails – I am a whiskey or beer kind of guy. When I go to Plaza Lounge I have to take advantage of their 3 martini sampler for 18 bucks. They have a list of about 40 martinis and I recomend the truffle Martini. When I do want whiskey I opt for the Kentucky Coffee. Yea thats right Kentucky whiskey in coffee. By the way they have a list with about 20 different alcoholic coffee drinks. The food is pretty good too, but who really cares what it tastes like after 2 or 3 rounds of drinks! Good food, good atmosphere, mediocre service.
Great food - horrible service – Food in this place is very good. I like the sandwiches and mezze platters. Most of the dishes on the menu are also very well priced. There's also a huge selection of mojitos and cca 20+ martini-type cocktails.
The only problem is the service which was disappointing on each visit (I've been there three times already). That's quite sad because the place is so nice and could be very successful. It's an amazing neighborhood spot with cozy atmosphere usually filled with very good music and interesting local crowd.
