My 9 yr old daughter just finished up with her first time at Rocking J Ranch's week long summer horse camp. At first she was extremely nervous about going and not knowing anybody, to the point of almost wanting to forget even going. By the time camp was just a couple days in, she couldn't stop talking about all the fun she was having, using all the horse lingo, and about all her friends she made. She was especially fond of Suzy, the owner of Rocking J and asked if she could do the residential program next year where she gets to stay the night on the ranch for the week. I feel very lucky as a parent to have found a program that teaches more responsibilities, gives my daughter self esteem, exercise, and a look at a different lifestyle than I could ever have imagined. Thank you to the staff at Rocking J!!!
Summer camps are great and the children get to learn what it really means to take care of a horse. So many places fill the time with games and crafts, but this horse camp is different. Daily trail rides, outdoor arena work including bareback, learning to tack up and groom and much more. Fun shows at the end of the week show the family how much their child has grown in their horsemanship skills. My daughter started at Rocking J camps four years ago and through Suzy's help, has matured into a solid rider and a good responsible horse person! If you want your child to attend a camp where they will learn the true meaning of taking care of a horse as well as riding and be with a staff that sincerely cares about him/her, Rocking J is the place. The atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable and friendly. The trails and the barn, pavillion and new deck are beautiful. It is a great place for parties, receptions, trail rides and camps.
My 10 year old daughter has been attending Rocking J for two summers now and planS to go back this coming summer! This Camp is a very fun and great learning experience for kids. The campers have lovely, good broke horses, guided by friendly and knowledgeable staff. They train all week for a awesome horse show staring our kids at the end of the week!!! At the end of the day they get the opportunity to un-tack and groom their horses and spend some time with them. This camp is teaching kids what it really means to own a horse. Their daily duties include morning feeding, brushing, cleaning out hooves, saddling, riding lessons, and cleaning your horse s stall. Great for learning responsibility! THANKS ROCKING J RANCH!!!!!!
