On Sunday, The Park hauls out their "build your own Bloody Mary" bar, which may be stressful for OCD types, but lovely if you like a vegetable-packed beverage. Also don't miss the truly creative mimosas at this (teensy bit fratty) sports bar -- the Lavender-Blackberry Mimosa is juicy and delicious.
I've been to The Park numerous times without issues. Normally, with a large group (read $$$). The food is decent for the price, the bar selection is limited. On 9/1 I arrived to meet a group of 6 others for brunch (ranging from a loan officer, insurance producer, claims adjuster, etc), only to have the doorman say that my boyfriend's cargo shorts were "baggy" and against the dress code. They hit right below his knees and he had on Converse and a nice vneck tee. I've been in The Park plenty of times and have even seen a guy dressed up as a Transformer there (not on Halloween lol). After waiting outside a few minutes for the rest of our group to arrive, I noticed the same doorman letting in men wearing shorts of the same length. They even let in a woman dressed in men's cargo shorts that reached down to her calf. We watched guys walk out the door with shorts the same length. When I approached the doorman about it he said that he was new and just learning the rules and suggested I speak to his manager Rob about it. I did and Rob said he was now outside to help the doorman understand the dress code. This would've been acceptable even as more guys walked out in similar length shorts except he then carded another guy with shorts the same length which I brought to Rob's attention. I'm a person that's big on principle so I will not visit The Park again with or without my boyfriend. I've heard hints of racial undertones existed and unfortunately I now believe it as I noticed a number of Black men were being turned away although I will give the doorman credit for turning away a couple White guys while we watched him initially. On a side note we did have a great brunch at Gloria's which also offers great mango and pomegranate mimosas for a buck! Our waiter Luis was super attentive and the food was good. I highly recommend brunch at Gloria's, they gladly accepted our group's patronage.
Racist! That's them in a nutshell. This place as NOT a club people. There is no selective dress code. How about just shoes and shirt and you get service. I have seen people serve liquor to people that were already intoxicated and falling on everyone. I have seen people in workout clothes. they call themselves a sports bar, but you can't wear sports clothes apparently. I have now had more than a handfull of friends been denied enterance for dress code violations. There was NO violation. Pictures were taken and the management was notified.
