Reviews for Artisans Restaurant

The word artisan, before being used to label everything sold on Etsy, mass-produced aioli and any old jar of rhubarb jam, meant craftsman. The brothers behind freshly opened French brasserie Artisans and its predecessor, Le Mistral, are instigating a renaissance for the term’s original meaning. A craftsman’s finely tuned touches reveal themselves at every turn here, from an interior that combines industrial bones with traditionally ornate French accents, to a visible open kitchen churning out fresh, French classics with a twist.

Solid French cuisine, but don't be surprised to discover hey are knocking out classics with a flair or two. I like to sit at the horseshoe bar facing the open kitchen.

if u don't fall in love w/ the decor – If you don't fall in love with the decor at this gorgeous French restaurant, you'll fall in love with the food. Chef Jacques Fox menu features decadent ingredients like foie gras with quail, pistachio-crusted sea bass, and steak au poivre, all created in to the utmost precision in the open kitchen. For a "chef's table"-type show, snag one of the 28 seats around the open kitchen, or for a more intimate affair, ask for a seat on the velvet banquette under the fleur-de-lys awning, where you can order a bottle of vin rouge from their carefully curated list, and enjoy a fine meal with that special someone.

Amazing! best lamb ever. Food was perfect, from the foe g. to the chocolate rum cake, our server Humberto made great wine recommendations, we drank a very nice bottle of Bandol which I had never tried before. We will be back for sure!

Witness the Culinary Magic First-Hand – Why You'll Love It

- French-native Executive Chef Jacques Fox’s much-lauded “French Eclectic” menu

- Brand-new restaurant from the brothers behind Le Mistral, Chef David Denis and Sylvain Denis

- Open kitchen to witness culinary artistry first hand

You’ve probably already heard the buzz about Artisans Restaurant—that its fine French fare and five-star service are seriously upping the ante on Midtown dining. But word-of-mouth can’t capture the vibrant atmosphere on par with the most romantic Parisian street. That side of the story can only be experienced first hand.

Sit along the open kitchen with a date and watch the virtuoso chefs craft your pistachio-crusted Chilean Seabass from locally sourced ingredients. Or, take over the private dining room for a celebratory cheer of “bon appetit!” Either way, you’ll leave this soon-to-be Houston staple decidedly in-the-know.
