Worst customer service. EVER. At first, I thought this place was great. The furniture is good. I bought it and like it. But the day for the delivery was the biggest mess!!! The delivery guy was worse than rude and unhelpful. He was a huge jerk. When I called the store owner in the middle of it, he told me that the guy could just load his furniture back up, bring it back to the store and he'd uncharge my credit card. NOT WHAT I WANTED. I just wanted the delivery guys to bring the furniture to the second floor of my house and not leave it my front hall. I was more than happy to pay the additional twenty dollars, and I was more than aware of the cost. I ENDED UP HELPING the one helpful guy carry it up myself AND paying him to do it. The other guy? He cussed me out, wouldn't let me tip his colleague and then asked me if I was pregnant. If I were pregnant, wouldn't he want to do all he could to help carry my furniture into my house? Instead of shouting at me from inside of his car to "just take the drawers out...it's light enough to carry". WTF? Delivery FAIL. Never ever ever going back here.
Great place for furniture – I have bought many pieces of furniture from this retailer and have always been pleased with all of them. I am now interested in another piece for my Bedroom. I highly recommend this place, You will find what you are searching for.
Very Pleased with my recent purchase! – I recently visited this store in hopes of finding a new sofa. The owner was extremely helpful and took the time to explain the variety of colors, and styles available. With his excellent service I ended up purchasing a custom upholstered chocolate microfiber sofa. I was even able to choose a custom style for the arm rest and feet of the sofa. In purchasing a custom piece of furniture I was amazed to find out that i would be receiving my sofa in about three weeks time, and the price could not be met anywhere. I am so pleased with my sofa. It just came in last week and looks amazing. I look forward to future purchases!
Great Value – I have ordered furniture from this store on several occasions and was very pleased not only with the service but the quality and price. Bookcases are really nice; one would never guess they were not very expensive. You have lots of choices and finishes. I definitely recommend this store. The owner, Don is quite accommodating and pleasant.
i Completely Disagree – I do not agree with theses reviews at all especially the rude ones. I have been a customer of Trade Winds for years and have been more than satisfied with their furniture and staff. I purchased a beautiful bookshelf there-NOT VENEER- around the time that the store first opened, still in impeccable condition. This store has beautiful well crafted furniture, and excellent prices.
Worst Customer Service.. RUDE – My girlfriend walked in to look for a bookcase, and while talking amongst ourselves, she mentioned that all the furniture was mostly veneers, not all hardwood. The owner heard us, and promptly shouted that "You don't have to stand their criticizing, you're welcome to LEAVE." What a @ss. We were both left feeling hurt and unwelcome. The products here are garbage and the service couldn't be worse. Stay away.
Nightmare on 5th Street – cannot believe incompetence of service. product arrived dirty, scuffed, and assembled wrong. they won't respond to my calls or repeated emails. these folks aren't too cool. AVOID!!!
Nice furniture, decent prices, zero customer service. I have 3 bookcases purchased previously over 2 years. I ordered another one in July to match... the owner pulled the previous order up on the computer and I told him I wanted the exact same one, which was 72", high to match the others. He had my exact previous records. After waiting a month, a 96" high bookcase arrived and had to be taken back. He would not take any responsibility for the mistake, told me I ordered the wrong thing, and expected me to pay the delivery guys for the wrong item! The one I want will now take another 2 months for delivery.!! I would not shop there again, but am stuck because I do want all of my bookcases to match. Appreciating your customers and treating them right is paramount in owning a business. I should know, I own a business in the Slope!
Great prices- call more than once to confirm – The prices are great and they have tons of catalogues to fit your needs. Most of the items in my house are from there, and since they create pieces according to specifications I plan to buy more.
My issue is that sometimes you have false turnaround times, but i guess that would really be there supplies fault- cause you cant assemble something you dont have, right?
I usually pick up the furniture since i'm so close but, it would be best to double check whatever arrangements you set because sometimes the piece has not arrived yet. Also they dont do there own delieveries so try to get the contact info at the time of purchase, because when the sales rep is on the phone it goes straight to voicemail. They will give you general time frames and there pretty good at sticking to them.
The gentleman on 7th ave is i believe the manager and is very knowledgeable about the product. There is also a hispanic young female on the 5th ave store who is also very helpful and caters to the customers very well. The other sales people i have come in contact with have been either lacking in product knowledge or customer service skills. The other two are the best, deal with them and you will have no reason to complain
Cheap furniture, WORST customer service – This store and Don, who I believe is the owner, has the worst customer service ever. He seems nice at first. I have bought several pieces of furniture there over the years. The first time was ok, the next time, they delivered late and I guess the delivery guys were anxious to be done for the night, because they drilled so hard when assembling our dressers, that they cracked the drawers and knobs in several places. When we called Don to complain, he couldn't have cared less. Just this past Christmas I ordered a nightstand for my husband. I had a lengthy conversation with Don about how it was a surprise and he assured me that it would be in the store the Saturday before Christmas (which was on a Monday). When I went to pick it up, he said, "Why are you here?" And then said that he forgot to order the table, but I could come in on Tuesday (AFTER Christmas) to get it. No apology. He then offered me the floor sample, at no discount, with the wrong knobs and covered in scratches. I said, "No thanks", I would pick it up Tuesday, and still make it a surprise. That Tuesday morning he left a message with my husband that the nightstand I had ordered was in. So much for the surprise! The furniture here is cheap, but you'll pay double in frustration.
