My son (21 month old) is at Living Montessori in Bellevue. He absolutely loves it! He’s always happy to be dropped off and I have a hard time getting him to leave each day. I’ve found all of the teachers to be engaging, warm and caring for the children. My son’s teacher is Miss Angela. She has an amazing calm and caring nature with the kids.
My highlights of LMEE are:
• Teachers. Wonderful teachers and staff who REALLY care about each child. A large number of the teachers have degrees in addition to their Montessori training. This sets the teachers apart from what you’d find at most daycares.
• Good nutrition. The school has a nutritionist that is thoughtful about the foods that are given to the children. I love that most of the food is organic and that they have multi-ethnic options.
• Physical activity. In addition to the outdoor play space LMEE also has an indoor gym and an extra play room in the center. I think that this is critical on really bad weather days when they can’t get outside. When touring other centers I really hated the idea that on bad weather days my little guy would be in the same room ALL day. I love that they get exposed to different play areas even on bad days.
• Community. The owner, staff, and parents are all very involved in making the school the best experience for the children that it can be. As a parent you can choice your level of involvement. Regardless, I think that your child really benefits from the actively involved parents and the connection you’ll gain from meeting families with kids of the same age.
I take issue with the former post that states "this school is for parents with lots of money and have no interest in their kids". That is a completely ignorant statement and I hope is just emotionally driven since there child did not have a great experience at this school. My husband and I are very involved and interested in our child so much so that we chose this school. He has been going here since he was 2 and at first I was skeptical of the Montessori way but my son has flourished in many facets both educationally, socially and emotionally. His current teacher is fantastic and is very well educated in the Montessori method. As with any school nothing is perfect and as parents we always want more for our children but we have found that the staff has been nothing but responsive and accomadating to our concerns and questions. I would hope that if any parent is interested in this school that they please go and take a tour as I believe they will be very pleasantly surprised.
Completely agree with GB, totally pathetic school. Management use Montessori â??wordâ?? as a shield. Teachers are totally inexperienced. My son went to this school for 6 months and we had such high hopes. It was a terrible experience. He had bullying experience, biting experiences and hence became very withdrawn. When we raised the issue, Aforse basically implied that we might need to get him â??assessedâ?? since he might be special need kid. She is totally clueless and her school is good for parents with lots of money and no interest in their kids. The management expects a 3 yr old to behave like a 5 yr old and both management and teachers are completely inexperienced on how to handle young toddlers. Changed my son school â??no Montessoriâ?? this time. You put a 3 yr and a 5 yr old together and you get bigger kids teasing and bullying the young ones. Been 3 months now and out son ios doing great at the new school and love his friends and teachers. People like Afrose shouldnâ??t be allowed to run school, she in my words is a complete IDIOT!!
LMEC program Encourages Independence – Parent Feedback - Living Montessori’s program offers our family the Montessori education similar to the one I grew up with and enables my kids to have a well-rounded early childhood education, but also learn where their strengths and challenges are and allows them to build on both. The program encourages independence and prepares them for a blend of self-discipline for independent study, as well as teacher-directed environments that they will encounter as they continue their education. The after-school activities build upon the curriculum and are a great blend of choice and fun with friends.
