Two thumbs up for Eli, Naeem, and the crew for fixing my car on a short notice. They explained what I needed to do before I gave the green light to fix the evap canister, vent and cap. Their price was reasonable and even gave me a discount after not charging for diagnostics test.
In addition, they fixed my grill and tightened one corner of the bumper for free. This was done when I came to pick up and Eli was heading out for dinner. But he rolled up his sleeves and stayed behind to fix my car.
Highly recommend Abe's to anyone near and far. These folks are honest and reliable!
This is a very great place to take your car, truck to have any repairs done Abe's honest and good rate. He'll take good care of you
I have come to find that there is actually a fair and professional office staff (or at least one office individual named Chris that I know of) that is willing to make things right. That is exactly what he did. If you have trouble communicating with the mechanic(s), ask for Chris.
Finding a new auto service that I can trust when moving to a new town is one of the most stressful parts of the move for me. My husband and I moved from Seattle, WA to Cambridge last June. When it came time to get our '05 Nissan X-Terra inspected, I drove it to Abe's. It needed a bit of work...breaks replaced and something else small. Eli helped with the whole process and was very straight up with us about pricing and repairs. We actually looked up the parts that he said need replacing online to see how much extra we were being charged and were surprised to find that he wasn't charging any extra. He only charged a small labor fee and no mark-up on the parts. I have since had other this and that's come up with the car, and I have always been able to get right in and have received timely help. This place is great! I'm so thankful to have found a trustworthy place on the first try!
We have been taking our Nissan X-Terra 2007 to Abe's for the last two years, ever since we moved to Cambridge from Seattle, WA. This garage is run efficiently and honestly. My husband and I were pretty apprehensive when we first took our car in for the mandatory state inspection (and for several repairs afterwards) but these guys know what they are doing. We worked closely with Eli and he always took out the time to answer our many questions and explain exactly what repairs were needed. The repair was usually done pretty quickly...depending on what was being fixed. Over the last two years Abe's shop has replaced new breaks and rotors (front and back), 2 front u joints, drive shaft, ball joint, wipers and oil changes. His prices for parts have been fair (we compared with on-line and other sources) and labor was reasonable. We are moving to Colorado in a month and we are going to miss having a trustworthy auto shop to go to...will have to start all over again.
I can recommend these mechanics.
Fixing a car is rarely cheap, but many shops make a living on ripping off customers.
I had a rattling noise on my old RX330 for awhile, brought it to Lexington Auto Engineering (authorized Lexus provider) and they not just didn't fix it, but they also gave me lots of BS about needing to replace expensive parts, in both exhaust system and rear brakes. Their estimate was sky high. I knew a half of that wasn't true so I continued to drive until I needed an inspection sticker.
So I pulled over to Mobil Gas station during my evening commute for gas and to get a sticker. Abe's is their service station. They found an issue with exhaust (which was NOT fixed, and not even detected by authorized service in Lexington), they took me under my car and showed me what parts need to be replaced and gave me a fair estimate. They worked till 8pm and fixed everything.
I've been to many shops around Boston area and these guys seem to be fair and honest. They welded my exhaust, fixed the leak, fixed the noise and replaced brake pads. Fair and square. No gimmicks, no BS - exactly what I appreciate in business.
This past summer my wife and I had our aging Honda Odyssey minivan serviced three times (for different and unrelated reasons) at Abe's Complete Auto Service garage, at 317 Fresh Pond Pkwy., Cambridge, MA. In each of these unscheduled visits we found the owner and mechanics of Abe's Complete Auto Service garage to be very accommodating as best they could be, plus we found their workmanship to be of high quality and their pricing to be a fair value. Based on our three recent experiences, we would highly recommend this auto service garage to others in the Cambridge, Belmont, Watertown, Arlington area.
This is a honest place, Eli has always done a good job on my car.
I have never had a worse experience with an auto shop. I am livid at the blatant disrespect, dishonesty, and the outcome of my experience with them. I am a college student- On the way to school, I ran my 2009 Nissan Maxima over a curb height median and knocked around the oil pans, exhaust, and suspension components on its underside. It was nighttime and the AAA tow driver directed me to Abe's (he disclosed that his uncle works there, i SHOULD have known better)- Only place with a night drop, and I did not know the area. Gieco's claim was in the range of 4,000 dollars, and in essence Eli (the man who I have to thank for this suit-worthy situation I am in), hosed and took advantage of me. When I picked up the car, it ran horribly- the car shook, it didn't idle, and it smoked. When I asked for a service report, they said they had none and gave me a receipt for my payment, which saved me $90 on my $250 deductible.
The first red flag: the claim listed a $374.00 michelin tire to be replaced- they put a $114 'Milestar' tire on. He said he would 'make it right' and would fix the shakes with a new engine mount and an adjustment to the idle. Also, to make of the $250 in tires they didn't put on, he would replace two other worn tires with those Milestar ones. He knew that I was onto him, but I didn't yet know the extent of his dishonesty. The mount (if they actually installed it) did nothing. Car still to this day over a month later, doesn't run well. I took it to a NIssan Dealer to see what else they were dishonest about. For the $1200 front exhaust pipe that was in the claim and that they were paid for, they welded in a resignator. They did not replace the catalytic converter gasket or the front pipe mount and cushion. I called Eli, who told me that he would "think about it" and get back to me. He never called me back- huge surprise. These guys are dishonest, and Eli should be put out of business. I am in the process of working with Gieco to claim my losses so I can get my car in the condition that it was in before the accident, and haven't bothered calling him back again. Keep driving.
