Decent local zoo – This is a nice place to spend an afternoon, but if you want a zoo to fill up a day you're probably better off taking a trip up to the Bronx.
Small Zoo, Great for an afternoon – I had about 40 minutes to waste in Prospect Park, so I spent $6 for the zoo. Its small size was perfect for the short time I had. Cute little Tamarin monkeys you can get close to, a great array of animals set up so you're in lovely air conditioning while viewing them. The walk around to see the animals outside in their natural habitat was a bit disappointing. They were far away laying in the shade, which I don't blame them. There are viewers that appeared to be free, but I couldn't figure out how to use them in my rush. All in all, I had a fun time. Probably perfect for people with kids who don't want to walk too far and enjoy some A/C.
