MY Stylist is GREAT Eric, But the receptionist is STUCK UP – I moved to New York several years ago and have been in search of a AMAZING stylist and discovered the Time salon I had purchase products there before, but was turned off by the attitude I received when I was purchasing some AVEDA products and decided against making an appointment . I truly did not feel like dealing with stuck up blacks. Years past and I saw Eric in the window just doing his thing. I decided I will try him, the price is fine I think Eric is worth every penny. I just get so annoyed looking at that stuck up receptionist when I get there. But, I will tolerate it as long as Eric is there.

Why is your TIME more valuable than mine? – I've always had to take a whole day off from work to get my hair done at Time.

I didn't find parking right away on my last visit so I decided to call the salon to let someone there know that I would be 10-15 minutes late. I was told that I would not be able to get my hair done if I didn't arrive within 15 minutes of my 9:45am appointment. I arrived at 10:05am and was seated....until about 11:45am. At this point, my stylist, hadn't yet arrived. Any who, my hair was washed and set and styled and I left the salon shortly AFTER 3pm. No, I didn't get any extensions, a full head weave, deep conditioner, protein treatment, color or cut. Just a wash, blow dry and curl.

All in all, while I always get compliments on my hair, TIME is truly over rated.

Not all that – They use top of the line products. I went twice and still not impressed for the price. My hair did not have a nice glossy sheen never did nor did it look like the cut I asked for which was edgy. I thought Time Salon was an "Upscale Salon" Oh and right by my home was so convenient. I ran into a lady on the street and her hair style was gorgeous she referred me to Burzh-Wa Myrtle Ave, Bklyn will be trying them this weekend

They should be ashamed! – Time Salon thinks that it's the cream of the crop. But I am hoping to shed much light. First of all, even with an appointment you have to wait hours to be serviced. For the price they charge, you shouldn't have to wait that long. They act so bourgie, yet they don't even offer you any refreshments...not even water!!!! And then, they only take cash?!?!? Hhmmm...a cash business! I don't like that and am very suspicious about it! For a REAL upscale experience worth the price, try Evolution Green Room, also in BK.

Expensive But Great! – I really like this place, however, besides the fact that they are really expensive for styling natural hair, I wish that I didn't feel so ucomfortable trying a different stylist (within the salon) without the stylists making you feel uncomfortable (like you only can go to that 1 person to do your hair) . I believe that all stylists in there are great and I would love to try a different one every now and again without the gossip.

Don't Believe the Hype! – I paid $167.00 for nothing! I decided to take a chance and get my hair done @ Time Salon. Please do not make the same mistake! Not friendly! They are all about the business of making you feel uncomfotable. Please beware of Time $alon!

i love it. started going there when it 1st opened many many years ago and continue to make appts when i'm in bklyn. couldn't give a damn about whether the stylist or person sitting next to me has a gucci bag or a paper bag, may hair always looks awesome and its worth every penny. go somewhere else and sit for 72 hrs if you don't like the atmosphere.

Your hair cut is fabulous! – I have been going to Time for a year now. I see Heather or Akilah every two months to freshen up my hair cut. I have received countless positive comments about my hair from family, friends, and people I don't know on the street. I have thick healthy hair and used to get complements but never like this now that I have Time hairdressers cutting my hair. My only negative critique is that my hair style doesn't last long...it's flat by the next day. I have a graduated bob (above shoulders). They use natural products and I guess that maybe they don't hold the hair style...but your hair is always soft and bouncy. The next day I always have to re-curl it. Good thing I know how to curl it myself. Even though this isn't a good thing...the cut is always slammin and I always get compliments. People also ask me where I go and can t hey have the number. So...given that the style doesn't last long...the cut is off the chain so it's worth it for me. A lil pricy, but that's about how much you pay at a black hair salon.

Wake up "Time" - You're Not The Only Game in Town – I really wanted to like this place since it's so close to home. The products are great and so are the stylists. I know that I should be used to the long waits in black salons, but it's just so unnecessary and archaic. Of course you want them to take their time and style your hair nicely, but appointments should be scheduled based on what work will be done, not on how many bookings they can squeeze in on a given day. I don't really care about the Gucci handbags or client attitudes - the salon can't change that. I do care about MY time; if it's not respected then I have to take my business elsewhere.

Snotty Atmosphere – I'm sorry but I have to agree with whomever said this salon is highly pretentious. Everyone shows up with their Gucci and Chanel bags, with their noses in the air. The salon is very professional, sure, but whoever said they were "down to earth" was inaccurate. They KNOW they're worth; and they don't hesistate to let everyone else know, either. I heard a stylist bragging about how a client simply couldn't afford him and that she should go somewhere cheaper. What kinda cr@p is that to say out loud in front of other customers? Anyway, I've been there a total of two times, and have always felt r@ped each time as far as my wallet was concerned. This is what you're paying for: their pricey products (which ARE pretty good) and the atmosphere. As far as them doing anything remarkable? Methinks not. I don't see where they do anything any other professional black stylist wouldn't do. If you want to spend extra money to "feel good" and put on airs, then by all means, visit the Time salon.
