Great price, friendly service and tons of great sushi! – This place is just great! I have been going to Yuraku for about a year now and I absolutely love it. The $22 all you can eat price is totally worth it. My husband and i even went here for Valentines day and sat in the side room so it was even a little romantic! We have eaten many of the items featured on the all you can eat menu and the tuna/salmon tar tar, all the tempuras, and the rolls are all very good. Don't get me wrong, if you think you are going to get exceptional sushi go somewhere else. This place has friendly servers, good sushi, and great prices!
Great Sushi, atmosphere and service – I love this place! Just went for the first time on a Wednesday night. The restaurant has nice pleasant and polite staff that say "you're welcome" and have great manners. The sushi is pretty good, especially at such a low place for an all you can eat( 22 dollars). I highly reccomend this place for anyone who wants a great atmosphere and ALOT of sushi at a low price. It is much better than Sushi Village that is further down Francis Lewis, which does not give you what you order in an all you can eat and are very rude.
Run to Yuraku!!!
Probably the worst food ever – not only did when we arrive the place looked like it haven't been renovated since the first GeorgeBush was in office, but you can tell right away a place probably isn't very good when there are pictures of the food in the menu. I was reccomended this place by a co-worker who after eating one of the better sushi places in Manhattan said that Yuraku was better. The food was awful, unedible, and kind of reminded me of dog food. The service was awful, the waitress barely spoke english and whenever i asked for a reccomendation she would point to the same sushi platter everytime, so i think we ended up with four of them. All in all the food was so bad we had to complain that it wasn't fresh so they could cancel the other half of the order. Never have i been made fun of so much in my life for taking a group of friends to such a bad place.
World Class Sushi Ya – This place has been in the neighborhood for years, and has always been great.
First, the atmosphere is very beautiful; authentic and comfortable. Separate seating areas provide an intimate setting for a relatively big area.
Most importantly, however, is the great food. In my experience, the sushi has always been fresh, expertly prepared, and delicious. While most sushi places will seat you with a bowl of edamame, Yuraku usually brings several dishes to get you started: a nice broiled mackerel, a seafood-tofu soup, and a pickled platter. Save your appetite though. Don't over order; they will not leave you hungry.
While I prefer fish to shellfish and mollusks, even the squid and clam are tender and tasty. The salmon, tuna, and fluke are perennial favorites, and the sushi chefs pay close attention to the aesthetics of the plate. Lunch specials from 11:30AM - 4PM every day are very good, and well-priced. Cooked food from the kitchen has never disappointed either.
Our favorite sushi place, by far.
Sick after eating sashimi. – My friend and I had been coming to this restaurant for years, enjoying the romantic atmosphere and friendly service. It was with sadness that we found a decline in the food quality during our last few visits. Yesterday we ordered the sashimi, which was of poor quality, smelled and tasted fishy. The manager explained some of the poor quality by saying that the some of the fish was delivered frozen every few days. He brought out a noticeably fresher portion, leaving us to believe that they had both fresh and old fish but served their once loyal customers the old fish. After leaving the restaurant, both of us became nauseas. My friend developed a rash on her back and stomach, requiring antihistamine medication to treat. As of this morning she is still sick. I have asked the Dept of Health to investigate, but in the meantime, I would avoid this place.
great sushi place in queens – i was surprised when i first walked in to yuraku - you wouldn't think it has a romantic vibe to it from the outside. the food was excellent, we ordered the braised(?) duck for app, and the meat was so tender and tasty. they occasionally gave us free sushi, and the wait staff is good. the ambiance was romantic, and the place isn't overly crowded. good place for your money.
sushi super star – As a sushi aficianado, I was shocked to discover that my favoirte sushi bar was in Queens--on Northern Blvd in Flushing. This place is ACES! The absolute BEST Kani Salad in creation...excellent rolls...fabulous spicy sauce...the freshest fish sliced perfectly and served with elan and a smile. SIT AT THE BAR....the chefs will serve you up a never ending chain of free delicacies, from the great kani salad to exotic rolls and other combinations. Try the Volcano roll, the Rainbow Roll, the Pyramid roll. The best hamachi anywhere!!! YURAKU is a gift from the Gods....
Fantastic! – I went to this restaurant a few days ago for lunch and it was a great experience. Our waitress was great and the food came promptly. Since we ordered a lot, we also received a lot of extra dishes on the house. The atmosphere was great, very clean, and the food was excellent. I will definitely return.
Ms K – The food was excellent and well worth the price. I would definitely go again. The service was on average very good..Especially the bus boys they were great and the restaurant was also very accomodating.
