nice view, medicre food, horrible service – We just left Bentley's for V Day. They had a preset menu for this evening which was 150 dollars per couple. We also ordered wine which made it over 200. Our view was great and the jazz music was nice. However, the head waiter left a lot to be desired. The assistant waiter should have been the head waiter because he knew how to conduct himself the way a waiter in a restaurant of this caliber should. It took us half a hour to have our order taken. Our appetizers arrived half a hour later and our meal arrived a hour later. The assitant waiter was the only one who asked us how our meal was. The hostess and the assistant waiter were the only ones who made us feel welcomed. The head waiter acted as if he was doing us a favor to acknowledge us. We spoke to the owner as we were leaving about the situation. He really acted as though he could care less.
POOR SERVICE & UNCONCERNED MANAGER – A group of us went to Bentley's for Valentine's Day. The food was very good however the service sucks! Their signature drink (The Bentley is a pre-made concoction that is in a big jar and has very little alcohol in it but they still charge you $10 for it) Not only were they extremely slow, they gave us our check without putting it in a check sleeve. If I am paying $150 for a meal and we are sitting with other couples, I expect some privacy with my bill and not just lay a curled up piece of paper on the table. When I spoke with the owner about the situation, he could care less and all he said was "sorry". I would not recommend this restaurant if you are use to great service especially from a restaurant of this caliber.
Nice View. Over-priced. – Bentleys gets a star for the view and a star for the ambience. But the food was only mediocre. The service is friendly, but mediocre. If the food and service were better, then the high prices would be worth it. Also make sure you request the main room when you make reservations. Because if their busy, they'll seat you in the bar area. And then you get no ambience either.

Looking for a special place to dine out we chose Bentley's.
We dined at your restaurant on Saturday May 9th.
It was our 35th anniversary, and we let the restaurant know that when we made reservations.
The front desk did in fact mention it before seating us.
We waited a longer than appropiate time for our bottle of wine to be served.
Dinner was served promptly, but after that things went downhill.
Feeling ignored, we waited a long time for our plates to be picked up.
Another long wait and then our checked was dropped off abruptly (here's your hat, whats your hurry), no offer for coffee or dessert.
Then we even had to wait and ask for our take out.
I know you had a wedding going on at the same time, but this is still unacceptable for a restaurant of of your caliber. With a near 200$ bill we could have done much better elsewhere.
We rarely make it uptown and with this experience we don't plan on it again any time soon.
FYI: we both had the clam chowder. The tomato base was excellent. The potatoes were hard (previously frozen?)
The clams were chewy and tasteless. We would have preferred just the tomato soup.

Food and view are great, but it is ruined by the terrible service! – My fiance and I visited Bentley's for Valentines Day and were VERY disappointed with our experience.
From the moment we sat down, our waiter was rude and did not make us feel welcome. I made reservations a month in advance and was not told there would be a set price for dinner. We realized this directly after we ordered and when we asked our waiter if we could change our order, he told us that the entire staff was trained to inform the customer and that no one else in the restaurant was unaware. Afterwards it was clear he was complaining about us to the other waiter?s b/c he was looking at us and shaking his head.
The food and the view were great, but we didn't enjoy our evening b/c of the horrible service we received. When I emailed management to make them aware of my experience, there excuse was "We do not shine on Valentines Day b/c we try to get customers in and out quickly" and they did not offer me any kind of compensation. I will think twice before visiting again.
Best view for dining/drinks in Charlotte - Excellent food – Great place to impress a date, propose, anniversary or anytime you want a great meal with a great view. Plenty of seating areas for large private parties. The bar area offers great views while you're waiting for a table as well. Professional servers who know what they're doing. Excellent for lunch too. They validate parking.
