Decent place for a gyro – I walked in and nearly slipped on the greasy floor. Ordered a "sample platter" which had your average chicken gyro and beef/lamb gyro meat with a small but nice flat pita and falafel which was overcooked on the outside & undercooked on the inside. It was accompanied by a small dollop of a wonderful hot sauce which was the highlight of the platter and some salad with vinagrette and feta cheese. A bit overpriced at $10 but if you're in the mood for a gyro this place isn't too bad. I'll give them credit for being fast, our order was ready to go in about 5 minutes.
Decent Gyro on Nassau South Shore – Gyro platter is a great dish at Abe's. They deliver to most Long Beach addresses. The spinach pie is another great classic. The baklava is worth saving room for. This is worth a try if you are hungry after a long day from the beach. It isnt really a place you'd bring a date. The value here is great, but they can certainly spend some time and money addressing the cleanliness of the store. The people behind the counter seem to be hired help without much interest in spraying down the tables or keeping it looking fresh inside.
