This is a great spot for good and satisfying meal with friends or when on the go. Old fashion atmosphere, perfect for a quick taste of Texas BBQ with all the fixings. Delicious sausage and brisket. Good value.

Best food ever – This location is great. Always great food and service. If I could only have one fast food place in the world this would be it. A ton of Texas charm and a huge grass area in the back to lounge on a nice day. Gas is stupid expensive but the just don’t buy it here.

Corporate BBQ – I used to love this place. But, it has now officially become corporate BBQ. Over the years the extra moist brisket has become less "moist" and less "dirty" in order to occomdate the homogenized tastes of an expanding empire that now covers from at least San Antonio to Tyler. You used to be able to compensate for this by telling the cashier you wanted "extra, extra juicy" and/or "extra dirty," etc. However, I showed up tonight and the young, spry, eager cashier responded to my request for "extra, extra juicy & dirty" brisket informing me that (a) they only offer "extra moist" through lean brisket, and (b) corporate policy doesn't allow referring the brisket as "juicy" or "dirty". And, she assured me that she'd be there for all of a year, and she'd never even heard the term "extra, extra moist." Corporate expansion has ruined the ambiance of this place. That said, the BBQ is still very good even if not extra, extra moist, juicy, dirty or whatever. But it's definitely not the unique fantastic place it used to be. Hope they're making alot of money to compensate for selling out.

Professional, Consistent, and High-Quality – I use Rudy's for Group Meals at least 1-2X/week. I continue to use them because they are consistently on time, everything is complete and well-packaged, and the food is always high-quality. The staff is friendly and pro-active in their teamwork, ensuring their teammates are on the way. Thank you Rudy's!

Solid, fast food, Que – I like Rudy's, it isn't the greatest, but it is what it is. A fast food barbecue place. Before Rudy's, I can't really remember where I used to go and get tasty quick, Que. Everything there is good, but the "eckrich style" sausage is just that. You can't really hold it against them though, how else do they have the time to make their own sausage.

rudis (Latin - unlearned, unenlightened) – I wont partonize here after how i witnessed the immature and rude counter staff, and their supervisor, berate an elderly couple (who were in the right) for so long that the woman became embarrassed and had to leave the counter. then they overcharged me, the next person in line. food is variable, sometimes dry, but the staff is reliably aggressive and unfriendly.

If You Shop at WalMart-You'll Love it Here – Assembly line approach, and the order takers and meat prep staff need supervision. They don't appear to have any quality goals at all.

Average BBQ, a elementary school cafeteria dining experience.

Great BBQ – Love this place... especially the meats. The sides are good, too. The creamed corn is naughty but so good. Busters has better slaw in my opinion. Love the rookie show they put on, love the beer in the tubs, etc.

Best BBQ in Austin – I have been to a few other BBQ places in Austin (Pok-e-Joes, Iron Works, Salt Lick), and I enjoy coming back to Rudys more often than I do Salt Lick (it is a ways out there). I strongly recommend getting the Extra Moist Brisket and the Creamed Corn. The BBQ sauce they offer is nice and tangy with a little bit of kick to it, which is completely different than the BBQ sauce you find at Salt Lick. I recommend this place to anyone that is a BBQ fan or to anyone in Austin. If you get your hands dirty, you can always use the automatic hand washer that they have near the restrooms. It's like a Jacuzzi for your hands!

Oh, how I love this place... – When we first moved to Austin I was very disappointed at the horrible BBQ places we kept ending up at. We finally decided to try Rudy's even though it was in a gas station...boy am I glad we did! This is the best BBQ I've ever had. Their meat is so tender and so juicy; the cream corn is heavenly. The sauce is great, but I can eat the meat w/o it; that's how great it is. My family from Houston always asks us to bring Rudy's in whenever we visit; THAT'S how good this place is.
