I'll rather eat with MSG – The service was so unprofessional overall. The server was so dirty, the shirt was a mess ...long time for drinks.the food took way too long it came cold and uncooked it was such an unpleasent experience overall...I'll rather wait the 2hour seating wait next door in the cheesecake factory any day than to choke on chinise food that's cold and raw!
pf rocks – great seating!! best japenese restaurant! packed but big. Service is slow (because many people) looks nice many statues. big variety different food than most restaurants.
This gussied-up chain bustles with singles and families craving Chinese food favorites. – In Short
Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers. Signature plates include diced chicken wrapped in cool lettuce leaves, orange-peel beef with chili peppers, and wok-fried scallops with lemon sauce.
I wish I could get my 2 hours back... – While eating pretzels in the mall on a Saturday around 4:00 p.m., we had the very bad idea to eat an early dinner at P.F. Chang's. I had been there before on a very crowded Saturday night, but it was my boyfriend's first time. We figured that we'd be in & out since the restaurant was empty. We were seated immediately but had to wait more than 15 minutes for service. While we sat waiting, we saw numerous waiters walking back & forth trying to avoid us. Finally a waiter (which we hadn't seen before) came over. He was surprised to learn that no one had come over to us. We ordered the Crab Wontons & our Entrees at the same time. The appetizer came out quickly as did our drinks. We sat waiting for our entrees for an hour. We contemplated leaving since we were already full on soda. For about 45 minutes, I had to continuously convince my boyfriend not to walk out. Our waiter told us that our food would be out in a few minutes, then disappeared for about 30 mins. We saw people come in, get seated, & start eating while we sat drinking soda. The waiter finally came with complimentary appetizers because he felt bad for us. He also told us that someone had taken our food which made us even more upset. The Chicken Lettuce cups were absolutely disgusting; I would've left if I had had to pay for them. By the time the food came, we were too upset to enjoy it. To this day, we still can't understand why it took us 2 hours to eat & leave when the restaurant wasn't even crowded. I wish I could get my money & 2 hours back. I also wish we would've chosen The Cheesecake Factory instead. Never Again!!!
P.F. is for Poor Food. – Celebrating a birthday dinner here is nothing short of going to hell. You get bad service, salty food, and broken fortune cookies. The party of 15 arrived on time with reservations and was not given a seat until 40 min later, let alone the waiting in the waiting area is so small and crowded you would think you were at the DMV. When we finally got the table they pushed together a big round table and 3 square tables in a line which was hard to fit 15 yet in a weird shape. The maitre'd was very rude, and unkind to my friend and didnt accommidate us properly. Although I admit, the waitress was very nice or the one that I had on MY side of this giant phallis shaped table. When we ordered drinks two people ordered the same drink with different results, one with a fruit on top, the other with a ton of ice. Appetizers and dinner were nothing to complain about if you like salt. The Hot and Sour soup was all soy sauce, seared ahi was limp, fishy, and fell apart, and the crab wonton was so hard it hurt the roof of my mouth. Then came the entrees it was a score or miss, mostly misses. My friend's sockeye ginger salmon was dry I traded with her for my moist salmon, the eggplant and chicken was salty and had chicken sprinkles rather than pieces of it, and my g/f's vegetable dish was drowned in soy sauce. This is one time you DONT want to eat your veggies. Thank god I had somethign in the food court 30 min before or I would of starved to death. Although my friend had what Winnie the Pooh would say "a rumbly in my tummy" but not the good kind....so beware..........
We would of gotten the b-day boy a cake but they charge us $15 dollars for that and thats probably to add some soy sauce to it. So you can guess we didnt order dessert and so we got the check along with some broken fortune cookies where some had the SAME fortune. Here's a fortune for the readers out there: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Worst Chinese Food in New York – I'm Chinese so I can testify that this is by far the worse Chinese food I have ever eaten...and I'm comparing it to Americanized Chinese food, not even authentic Chinese food. First off, we had reservations for 15. It took them 45 min. to get us our table and the hostess kept lying saying they were setting up the table, then pushing the tables together, then that it'd take 10 more minutes. No apologies whatsoever...She was one rude bleep! So if you ever want to try this place, just a forewarning that they do not honor their reservations and have no qualms about it. Secondly, the food was horrible! Someone taught the chef that Chinese people only use soy sauce in their recipes. Most of our entrees were way too salty...chicken, beef, eggplant, broccoli, sea bass all soaked in a pool of soy sauce. No variety at all. Food that wasn't too salty was just bland...no flavor at all. The bartender couldn't get his recipe straight either because I ordered the same drink as my friend and instead of fresh pineapple, he decided to garnish my drink with a huge topping of ice. So after waiting 45 min. to get seated even though we had reservations, and eating or rather lack of eating the soy sauce drenched appetizers and entrees...we definitely did not opt to try any of the desserts. Instead, we ran to Dave and Busters right next door...which was a relief because one member of our party had an upset stomache from the food. The next day I found out a few more ppl. who had eaten there with me had upset stomaches as the night progressed. All I can say is eat at your own risk -- highway to high bloodpressure and an upset stomache. And a very frustrating start to a dining experience. If you're into staring at big stone horse statues, then go for it. Otherwise, I would recommend a place in one of NYC's Chinatown's -- closest one to PF CHang's would be a restaurant located in the Chinatown located in Main Street, Flushing (Queens).
Good wine list, good northern ribs, good lemon chicken – The wine list is excellent! The northern ribs make a great appetizer. The Lemon Chicken is a great entree. The Manager walks around to check for customer satisfaction. When I first walked in, the place had a strange odor and the bathrooms are used by people in the mall so they are never very clean. They do not rush you and the servers spend lots of time helping you choose the right dish. If you want to avoid the endles crowds at the cheesecake factory, try Chang's. The large booths are very nice.
Good food, but the customer service is horrible. – We went for dinner and we were told the wait is 45mins, we ended up waiting 1 1/2hrs. To top it off, the manager was one nasty person, instead of helping like he should have, he was one of the rudest person. I think PF Changs need a new manager there. In the end we had a very nice waitress. I would not recommend this restaurant if you have kids, the wait time is ridiculous and the manager needs to go!
Food was awesome, service sucked – The food was very delicious for "Americanized" chinese food. The Mongolian beef was very sugary sweet but was good when paired with brown rice. The pork and lettuce wraps are delicious. If the food wasn't great, the entire experience would have been the worst ever thanks to one/two of the staff.
- He was friendly but forgetful (we never did get our one bowl of white rice)
- he never brought out the compimentary crispy noodles (it was offered to the other non-asian patrons) and when we asked, he said we had to ask for them. Not so, I saw the other staff giving it to other customers just being seated.
- He forgot to bring us plates when the entrees came out so we just stared at our food.
- Then we waited over 30 minutes to get our check. When we asked his coworker if he could help us, he brusquely told us to get our own server and then proceeded to ignore us while showering toothy smiles and wonderful service to the large party next to us.
- Finally when I wanted to give him my credit card, I had to bring it to HIM while he stood there, tried NOT to make eye contact with me even though his podium was less than 4 feet away. Frankly I'm surprised we even got fortune cookies afterwards!
I didn't tip more than the 15% even though I shouldn't have tipped at all. Heaven forbid he use that as another excuse to mistreat asians who patronize the establishment. He was either r@cist or very very bad at his job. The management should train their waitstaff to be more attentive. Get takeout if you can rather than eating there. Steer clear of the waitstaff with the goatees unless you want to be ignored.
i liked it!!!!!!!! – i liked this restaurant alot , the setting was well rounded . you can both have fun an a romantic night all at the same tyme. the food was delicious i loved the the great wall of china cake that was yummyy,,, i highly recommend this restaurant.
